A different reason for staying with K while he...
I've read two primary reasons for sticking/not sticking with Kenny while he mutilated Carver:
1. I as a player wanted to see Carver mutilated.
2. Clem shouldn't be exposed to that.
I chose to stay, but not because of 1. I even agree with 2. But knowing Kenny had just taken a MASSIVE face beating for Clem, I felt Clem sort of owed it to Kenny to stay by his side, even in his darker moments, and also I didn't like the idea of leaving Kenny alone in a room with a psychopath who was still strapped! So I don't think Clem should see mutilating (ideally), but I don't think Kenny should be left alone in general, nor with an armed man...
That's my reason for staying. Plus, I wanted to make sure he did in fact die. If he didn't die, he would have chased the group until someone died.
