All the hate/complaining is disturbing.

"Luke is being wasted !", "Kenny is overshadowing everyone!", "The episodes are too short!" These are common complaints seen on this forum. A lot of people chalk it up to TT being lazy. This criticisim is crazy. It's their story ! If they wan't Kenny to be a bigger and more important character than Luke, so what? If they wan't to try out shorter episodes, so what? You may be able to make some choices, but it's not your story, it's Telltale's! If there is something you don't like, that's ok, but don't say its because TT is lazy. Its because it's their story, and that is how it is going to be! Get over it!

  • Well, they make it for us, so it's only good to give some criticism.
  • Unpopular opinion here seems like but I actuallly somewhat agree with you not that their fans have no power because that is not true but the criticism of every little thing is a bit annoying ! Not judging anyone of course its up to people to decide what they don't like and at the end of the day there are always gonna be people who are never happy no matter what.

As paying cutomer's we have every right to debate the quality of product we received if we are unhappy with something it's ok to question it. Telltale can respond to any criticism they deem to harsh and they feel needs a response but they never listen to users.

Some of the complaints are legit, but i find the complaints about Luke and Kenny ridiculous as well, people want the characters to be just like how they want them to be which is ridiculous, i personally like how they are being potrayed, each of the main charactes have their flaws but are good people overall which makes them more relatable. Very few people would be willing to do the sacrifices that Kenny did, and yet they're still hating on him.
  • Like I said, Criticize if you may, but saying TT is lazy because you don't like something is total BS.

  • That is what I'm sayin, my man. I wish the people who downvote me would listen to what I'm sayin.

  • No.

Are you totally comfortable with how things are going this season? You don't have to answer me, but think about it yourself. If the answer is "yes" then I respect your opinion, even though I do not understand it, and I honestly envy you. If the answer is "no" however, then I must tell you that you are destroying this series.

Disturbing would be for us, paying customers, and more than just that, fans, to shut up when we feel things can be done better by the developers. And they **can** be done better, the proof lies probably in your hard drive: a game released two years ago which is probably the reason all of us are here discussing this in the first place.

We have a right to express what we feel like, be it positive or negative, and if the latter, most of us do it because we want to see this shine. Do you really think I enjoy bitching on this forum? It gets tiring, believe me, but I am here, along with other people who -maybe foolishly- believe that we can still make a fucking difference.

The work of art ends up belonging to the artist and to the people in similar ways.
  • Criticize anything you want, just don't say it is because TT is lazy. That's the main thing Im trying to say.

  • People. Are. Allowed. To be. Critical.

Just because we're fans doesn't mean we're not allowed to look at the work critically and have opinions on what was and was not executed well. I mean, I want to go into writing professionally. This is something I have to do when consuming media for my own growth as an artist.

If it's menial complaints like "it was such a long wait for a shitty episode weh weh weh" or they're just repeating what other people have said, then I understand getting frustrated, but man, people are ALLOWED to not like things. People are ALLOWED to feel like something wasn't done well. It's not a sin against Telltale to not mindlessly accept the episode as perfect and flawless.
  • Alright I'd say greedy definitely not lazy I agree

  • I can see what people are complaining about but some people are just over exaggerating everything with their complaints
  • Some complaints have to be made. So that past mistakes won't repeat on the future installments
  • Nothing is perfect, man. I have complaints about this season. The problem I have is when someone says "Luke was barely in this episode, TT is so lazy." No, they are not! Luke would have more screentime if TT wanted him to. Something like "Luke was barely in this episode, I hope he gets more screentime in 4." is completely valid. Pulling a lazy card is just lazy yourself.

  • Only like 2 people got what I said. Be as critical as you want, just back it up with something valid. "Because they are lazy" is not valid, its BS.
  • Sorry, dude, but if a product such as episode 3 is *clearly* rushed and certain elements of the writing are clearly not matching up to what was set up, then it's a matter of laziness, not just people bitching. It's writers not doing everything they can to make a product that hits upon every good note, when we *know* they can do better. See Season 1.

I know how you feel, because this is basically what it's like being a fan of the TWD show. It's actually pretty funny how the game is going in that direction. Season 1? Very solid and largely praised by everyone. Season 2? Clearly a lot of problems caused by the creators having a lot of behind the scenes issues. In the show's case, it's AMC being dicks and slashing the budget. In the game's case, it's apparently TellTale being overworked and taking on more projects than they can handle. Or at least I *hope* that's the reason.

But even though I defend the show's writers from a lot of criticism that I feel is unjustified, I can admit that there are many, many times where it just doesn't feel like the writers have the drive that they've exhibited before and are just being lazy. This is one of those times, and it sucks, because anyone whose read any of my posts knows I love to ramble and talk about things I love about this series at great length. I don't *want* to be disappointed, but sometimes, it's gonna happen, and I refuse to acknowledge this idea that it's not because of TellTale, it's just because *we* are the ones with the problem. Hell, if it was really about characters not acting the way *we* want them to, do you think we would have loved Season 1 so much, even though things that came right the fuck out of nowhere and horrified us (Carley's death, just as one example) were in abundance? No, the characters being at TellTale's mercy is not a problem we have. It's that the effort and fantastic work that we've seen before just doesn't feel present at the moment, and we're going to notice.

I haven't lost faith in TellTale. Season 2 is still very good, I and others just personally feel like it's taken several steps back from season 1 and that a lot of that is due to writer issues. Who knows? Maybe it turns out they'll expand on everything we've complained about and episode 3 was just a prelude to an AMAZING episode 4. We'll see.

I think we can all agree it's at least way, way better than the show's season 2. :P
  • I hate when people complain about luke

-he could have easily left, instead he doesnt sleep or eat and risks his life finding the group

    - he admits to his mistakes

-and come on, its hard now to find a really nice character
  • > Pulling a lazy card is just lazy yourself.

I have not really attributed this season's perceived failings to laziness on TT's part, but rather on their design choices and perhaps even stubbornness.

Your OP seems to read: "TT want it that way, shut up and deal with it." That's the reason for the rant up there, in which I firmly believe in. If you're all for constructive criticism, great.

  • The quailty is falling a bit and there are pacing issues, but lazy is the last word I would use. With many projects right now, "Overworked" is what I'd say about TT right now.

  • I'm enjoying the story for what it is. I just think that Telltale got lucky... real lucky in season 1. All the people complaining are actually the biggest fanboys/girls. They think Telltale is the best company, mostly because of the masterpiece that was Season 1, they expect nothing but gold in every episode.

No one but Telltale is responsible for "destroying" TWD series, if they decide to lower their commitment then they have to deal with people dissatisfied with their product. I respect people who voice their opinions and hopefully some of their opinions will be heard. I really do miss hubs and the sense of control we had in Season 1 and hopefully Telltale will redeem themselves in the last 2 episodes. But plenty of complaints seem more like personal problems.
  • Constructive Crit. Is great. I wasn't directing my rant towards anyone in particular, sorry if it sounded that way.
