Am I the only one who liked this episode ?

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
From what I have seen from playthroughs of other people, I thought the episode was good. Although I do understand the concerns from many people ( the length and the development of side characters), I felt more like I was watching a movie than watching a game. I don't know, maybe its just me who just likes watching Clem grow as a warrior.

Nah I loved it! But alot of people are still bitching about the length :D
  • I liked it a lot too. My favorite. The only problem for me was the lack of interaction with the 400 Days crew.

I enjoyed it too despite the railroady/linear feeling.

I suspect that Telltale wanted to grab the player by the arm and yank them through this episode without anytime to stop and smell the roses.
  • I really enjoyed it, I still think A House Divided is the best episode though.
  • I feel like it just keeps getting better! Definitely one of my favs!
  • I liked it a lot. Sure, it wasn't perfect and had flaws, but, it was still a great episode.
  • I didn't like Season one that much because it just felt like a normal survival story, where as season 2 involves more on Clem's growth as a main character
  • Why do people think that if people say the episode was short that it sucked? I loved this episode but it had the potential to be better if it was longer.
  • I think everyone liked it, some just didn't love it.
  • mostly everyone enjoyed it, it might not seem like it though.the episode just had so much more potential which made people upset including me
  • Look, it's not that I didn't like it, but it is frustrating to imagine what could have been... and that isn't exclusive to this particular episode. You mentioned some of the perceived problems yourself, but seem not too affected by them. I'm glad for you.
  • I liked it! I'm having that week long post-episode happiness/sadness I always have after each episode which is a "tell-tale" sign I loved it and it made an impact on me.
  • Length of a video game is a big selling point. It's just the nature of the beast unfortunately. Consumers measure cost against the TTB (time to beat).

Though in TWDs case, it's somewhat unfair to judge on a per episode basis, you have to look at the entire season. Plus the game was only $25. In my opinion, this game has great value for the price.

  • I loved it.
  • One of my favorite episodes of the series perhaps. I really like how this episode focused on Clementine as her own character. It's very clear that the talk with Carver will play a huge role in how Clementine develops throughout the series: will she turn into a mini-Carver or will she become someone that he would see as "weak"? I feel like a lot of other episodes were just focused on survival, but this is the first time we see that Clementine is on the road to becoming a leader, and how we play will determine what type of leader she will be.
  • I liked it too man this ways the same problem with episode 2 of this season as well even through everyone out side the forum loved it (expect farfromsuble but fuck that guy) I think this as to do with it being a seclude. they think that it can't be as good a the first one so people have to nick pick and find ways they don't like it. it happens with movies all the time.
  • I like Fraser (farfromsubtle) but he's one biased fuck when he's playing a story heavy game with his friends.

  • I agree but if I sat down right now and played Season 1 ill probably beat it in 10-12 hours if I sat down and played Season 2 Episodes 1,2,3 ill probably get 4 maybe 5 hours if you do the math then Season 2 wont live up to season 1 time it will probably hit 8 hours Max that's 4 hours lost compared to season 1. Once again I LOVE this Season but my only wish is more time.

  • I loved it but you know, not everyone can be pleased :P
No, this episode is not perfection, but it's definitely my personal favorite.
  • When I was watching his season 2 episode 2 video I had to just get up and walk away he seriously pissed me off with his nick picking every this goes in with my top topic talking about how people have this idea in their heads that secludes are the bane of humankind or something there have been good secludes guys look at the empire strikes back I like this season so far I don't care what anyone thinks about it.

I like Fraser (farfromsubtle) but he's one biased fuck when he's playing a story heavy game with his friends.

  • Secludes? Don't you mean sequels?

  • I really enjoyed it but not everyone is satisfied

He seemed to enjoy TWAU episode 3. Honestly he pisses me off A LOT! But when he plays games by himself he's a okay dude. One thing that you need to know is they drink a lot when they play games so he says shit sometimes because of it. I'd just avoid their playthroughs of story heavy games.
If you thought he was bad I would check this chicks playthrough of season 2 episode 2 - ShannonZKiller
Her playthrough of that episode was terrible! What really sucks is that her playthrough of the other episodes were great.

  • I thought it was dull. The Characters were all one dimensional, the timeline didn't make much sense... how did luke get back so quick? it took them a week to walk to the ski resort... but he was back at Carvers in a day? through a swarm of walkers?
It didn't feel as much like playing a game as it did reading a comic. there were very few moments of game play where we could interact with other people, there was only one moment of searching around, and it was in a prison... so there wasn't much to find.. or put together.

I would have liked to engage other characters more. I feel like this whole season is a faster and less interesting pace, where plot doesn't matter.

I also was annoyed by the kenny eyepatch bit. that was some blatant pandering to the Kenny crowd.
  • It just barely beats out Episode 2 as my favorite Episode of the Season. If only Nick and the 400 Days characters had bigger roles. Heck, if only NICK had a bigger role, I would have loved it even more.
  • Same here. I wonder what was the purpose of putting the 400 Days characters in there like they did. All they had was a few lines, for God sake. And Nick, yeah. It would have been great if he had a bigger role.
