Question about Kenny (Episode 3)

I was wondering if there was any way to avoid Kenny getting the tar beaten out of him over the walkie-talkie in Episode 3. I thought I heard somewhere that Carver beat up Clementine instead of Kenny, but maybe I misunderstood. Is there any way to save Kenny's eye? Also, when you try to decide who will take the walkie-talkie to Luke, what happens if you choose Mike or Kenny instead of Clementine? I just figured Clementine would still go.

I've seen three out of the four options in that scene (Admitting it, saying you found it, and silence) and Kenny always takes it, so he always gets beaten up. If you say that Kenny or Mike should take the radio, Kenny slips it into Clem's pocket anyway when Troy comes in and apologizes, saying that it's the only way.

I figured that he'd just put it in her pocket anyway because they get interrupted. Thanks for the answers. I'm going to do another playthrough I was just curious if there were any major changes possible concerning Kenny's lost eye.

Yes, he is. :) Good ole Kenny, he may be a hot-head at times, but he's a good man. It seemed like nobody else was ready to step up for Clementine like that, when she's been taking all the risks. It made me feel really bad when he got beaten up. At least, he seems to be doing alright. Now, we just need him to get a bad-ass eyepatch. ;)

How does Carver get the second radio? Didn't Clem take both? and She wasn't able to get one to Luke. so how did Carver get the other one?
