The Strongest Character Among All Fables

We haven't know who is the strongest character in The Wolf Among Us. What do you say???
We didn't know anything about crooked man. I think he may be very strong but well Is Bigby stronger than crooked man??? Can Bigby defeat him easily???

  • There`s no chance that The Crooked Man is stronger than Bigby, i doubt he has any power at all(except money). They probably won`t fight al all. Bloody Mary is the one that attacked Bigby with silver bullets(and almost killed him) and The Crooked Man is the one who spared Bigby.

  • I think he was only asking about the game. I don`t think Frau Totenkinder will appear.
  • i want to see a fight with bigby in full form and beast if he has one would be pretty goddamn badass i think
  • Beast does have a full form like Bigby, it'll make you shit your britches in fear.

  • A Fable is powerful when people (mundies) believe in it/like it. That's why Snow White did not die in the comic after being shot in the head, mundies love her she is nearly immortal.
So isn't Santa Claus the most powerful?
  • You have a point :)))

  • Crane's the strongest : )
  • Kevin Thorne the creator of the Fables universe, he's a literal a imortal being who created every Fable just by writing their description on a book.
  • I guest the hate troll has returned, perhaps he/she/it is the strongest fable? :O
  • Just seen it would be awesome to the fight like this in the game got to happen

  • Ok how?

    Crane's the strongest : )

There are a few candidates for the strongest fable.

    Frau Totenkinder:
She is extremely powerful since she's been honing over centuries. She also proves that the whole "the most popular is the strongest" when she defeats Baba Yaga easily. Though that being said, it still matters how popular the story of the fable is.

    Bigby Wolf:
Son of The North Wind (one of the Great Powers and a Cardinal Wind) and a wolf named Winter, Bigby has incredible powers like the Huff and Puff (3 little pigs) and other skills. For those only playing the game, he would seem like the obvious answer.

    Beast:
Beast has a curse upon him that turns him into a monster with unimaginable powers. Him and Bigby has been fighting a couple of times, but it has been stopped before they could finish, so it is not sure who would come out on top. (most likely Bigby, since he has been in many wars and received combat training for hundreds of years)

The North Wind or Mister Dark:
Also known as Mr. North is one of the great powers and a Cardinal Wind which grants him powers beyond any before mentioned fables. As long as Bigby has lived, he has tried to kill Mr. North for what he did to Bigbys mother, but Mr. North defeated him with ease everytime. He sacrificed himself to kill Mister Dark who was of equal power and the embodiment of all evil and corrupted. If The North Wind didn't do it in the tricky way he did, their fight would have consumed the entire mundane world.

Kevin Thorne - The creator of all worlds:
He is the top literal which means he created all the fables and universes in existence which a pen and some paper. What he writes becomes reality. This means he has incredible power to make and destroy worlds at will. But he lacks raw strength, which means that if he lost his pen, he would be as powerful as a mundy.

Based on what i know, i would say that the North Wind was the strongest there was. After the Death of him and Mr. Dark the title of strongest fable would probably go to one of the other Cardinal Winds until someone were to fill the throne of Mister Dark, or Winter Wolf (Bigby's Daugther) grows into her new powers as the new North Wind.

I would like to hear your thoughts on this and if there is someone i forgot to mention.
  • However at this point it isn't one he has control over.

Beast does have a full form like Bigby, it'll make you shit your britches in fear.

  • The popularity theory although never fully proven and contested in universe relates to their resilience not how powerful they are.

A Fable is powerful when people (mundies) believe in it/like it. That's why Snow White did not die in the comic after being shot in the head, mundies love her she is nearly immortal. So isn't Santa Claus the most powerful?

  • And is also one of Willingham's worst ideas ever featured in the comic. Thankfully they were written out after book 13.

Actually Santa Clause is a real person he just doesn't give the presents. So he is not a fable :D

  • But still one of the most poweful fables that lived.

Yes, he is, and he is in fact one of the most powerful, albeit he's a bit reclusive and doesn't meddle much except for that one day of the year.

Briar Rose shouldn't be discounted, as she can put almost any number of people to sleep on the spot utterly regardless of their own powers or defenses just by pricking her finger, and is blessed with eternal beauty, wit and fortune no matter what circumstances she finds herself in. She doesn't have much to offer in a direct fight, but put in the right perspective her "abilities" are very, very impressive on a tactical level.
  • As they are used in such a way twice in the comic. Lumi (The Snow Queen) is another very powerful Fable as the comic seems to suggest she could put a world into a permanent Winter.

  • Beast's power is limited until sometime after Mean Seasons as he does not have full control of his transformations. As it is linked to Beauty's mood. The game is unclear if Beast transforms due to choice or due to Beauty being pissed at him.

Bigby's kids are implied to become very powerful Fables eventually.

The Adversary is also a very powerful Fable.
  • Why thumbs down? Frau said herself they are 98% magic.

  • Probably Bigbly... He's in 2 fables for gods sake. Easily the most popular.
  • He's in at least three. The Boy Who Cried Wolf, Red Riding Hood & Three Little Pigs. The popularity theory is not to do with power though.

  • Makes me wonder if the fables are aware of this and use it to their advantage, but then again you gotta be popular from the gecko
  • In the comics Jack steals money from Fabletown, moves to L.A. and creates a trilogy of films about him self in order to become more powerful.

Ah seem like something Jack would do lol Must read these comics<<
  • yup reread it yesterday!

He also sets off one of the main plotlines due to his interaction with a certain Fable.

  • I think Beast's power shows itself whenever he feels the necessity for it, to protect Beauty and others. Or it can be because Beauty's mood as you said. So he can control it to some extent.

All of Bigby's kids show potential, but i mentioned Winter since she was chosen to be the next North Wind.

The Adversary's powers aren't that great i would say. He is weak and cant really do a thing without a certain forest and a certain fairy.

But then again it has been some time since i read the comics from the start, so maybe i should give them another whirl. :)

  • He is the son of one of the Great Powers. Not really a god, but more like a fable of higher status. If we were to talk about a god of a sort it would be the Literals. Kevin Thorn created the entire universe basically. Another thing is that Bigby denied the powers bestowed upon him by his father for centuries, which means he hasn't trained them to perfection or even tried them at all.
