I just don't think that staying in the compound/staying at carvers community was the worst idea possible.

Hear me out, i know carver is a bad guy but if you look at it in a certain way, Carver was right when he said ''You have no idea how good you got it.'' I mean in the community there was so much food and it was secure. It's more that can be said for many other places. I think what they should of done instead of just running into the herd to go find somewhere else is to take over the area, or even after they've made it ouf ot the herd and the area no longer has thousands of walkers is go back there and use that place as a base but without the brutality and without as much forced and hard labour.

Just my opinion on the whole subject guys :)

I don't think Carver's compound would have lasted that long.

Luke says the surrounding area has been picked clean of supplies, and Tavia says they're running low on materials.

It would fall apart sooner or later.

Carver would've eventually killed other people he considered weak and incompetent. Guys like Sarah, Sarita and maybe even Nick.

Hell, the only reason he didn't kill Alvin already is because he wanted to continue torturing him.

Aye, imagine if the camp would start running out of supplies. Carver would have no choice but to start killing off the drains on resources.
And that would result in the remaining members becoming even more hardcore in the hopes of not being next on the list.
Soon you'd have a camp of nothing but emotionless assholes.

honestly I think the best place to go would be an island. Not a crapy island wear there's ONLY sand, but a lot of grass and soil. then they can get some seed, and get a.. ahem... [ BOAT ] and go to the island and plant a whole bunch of crops and stuff. they can even bring pigs and sheep for meat.

they could also go fishing.

Carver had good intentions. A lot of characters even admit he used to be a good guy. It's just that as time went on he started becoming paranoid. The burdens of command all that.

At least he thought he was doing good by trying to re-integrate the Cabin Crew back into the community.

I think Carver's community would be good for a while, but it won't last for long, also don't forget the fact that Carver holds a grudge against your group.

I'd say, if you can't get to a boat, find a two or three story building in a town area, barricade the shit out of the first floor (so much that you couldn't even walk downstairs). Have a portable ladder that you would use to get down, but other members of your group could pull back into the building once you're out. Then lastly, after you clear a building of all its supplies, burn that shit down, because all it would be later, is an area where walkers could sneak up on you.

Agreed, I don't think it would be *that* bad. I mean, yeah, Carver was cruel and oppressive but still not much worse than the walkers.

Freedom has no price, and that is something people like Kenny, Lee and Clem believe in. Even if they took over the place there would still be memories. Of Alvin and Reggie dying, Sarah getting slapped, Clem being hit, Kenny losing his eye. And memories like that can haunt people, and trap them

It wasn't an option for me. Carver murdered Reggie for not picking enough berries. that was, in Reggie's own words, "straight fucked up". They were there all of two days, and that led to Alvin dying and Kenny losing an eye. I couldn't imagine what would happen after several weeks in that place.
