When did they start calling them Walkers?

I can't remember when they transitioned from, those thing, dead people, monsters, to Walkers in Season 1.

    The first time I heard "walkers" used in S1 was when Lee asked Shawn "Was the boy one of the walkers?"

    Like Dragon said first time I heard it was when Lee said it at the farm. I guess it just caught on in the group because they are essentially 'walkers' and it's easy term.

    Well, if the only other people you meet are like:

    'Walkers attacked us.'

    'Walkers got him.'

    'We were chased by some walkers.'

    you should have an idea what they mean with that term.

    Lurkers and Walkers. Almost the same thing.

    To my knowledge zombies don't exist in TWD universes pop culture so they just name them whatever they want.

    That's true, that's why it's a "WTF" moment for me when someone calls them "Zombie". It's happened twice I think. One in the drugstore when picking who to go with to save Glenn, Lee said "Doug's not great around Zombies" and later, Fivel is "Zombie boy" or something like that when examining him.

    Lee also says zombie when inspecting the door in the drug store. The locked door. He says something along the lines of
    "That zombie outside has the keys" I dont remember it exactly but he does say zombie.
