____will remember that

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
I love Season 2 don't get me wrong, despite the eps being very short, lack of gameplay etc. but one major thing that has bothered me is so far when a character "remembers" something Clem says or does, so far it has not been mentioned since. There is obviously still 2 episodes for this to happen but for example:

In ep2 If you sit with Luke and not Kenny, it will say Kenny will remember that. Will he mention this in ep4 or 5?

In ep2 If you listen to Rebecca's baby kick, it says she will remember that.

In ep3 if you stand up for Sarah before Carlos slaps her it says he will remember that but before he died it wasnt mentioned.

If you gave up instead of find kenny/luke in ep2, Kenny does not mention this at all in ep3 like he does in the trailer

Basically i have felt like everytime a character "remembers that" it has been uttey pointless this season. I was really hoping to see characters relationships change depending on Clems actions like with Lee and Kenny in S1. Like the way Rebecca was in ep1, i thought she was the perfect example but no nothing, no changes in relationships towards Clem. In one of my saves i told Sarah shes not my friend and was really cold to her and yet she still acts all chummy round me.

These are the things im most hurt by because S1 was perfect. S2 is great from a story perspective but some of the writing for me has been poor and rushed

  • Even though i can only see half of what you posted i think i know what your getting at here. i personally have not noticed any changes in characters behaviours based on what ive said (Maybe because the most judgemental character (Kenny) is my BFFL)
  • Sorry i clicked post discussion too early lol. Im just adding now
  • We will probably see the effects in episode 4 like last season

This is definitely one of my biggest issues with the season too. It was so well implemented in S1, but I literally can't think of anything that's gone anywhere from this season's 'remembering', which is weird because I also feel like we're seeing the notifications pop up more often. I remember being so excited after episode 1 about how things we're going to go with Rebecca and Carlos in particular because I sassed off to them something fierce, got threatened by them and then come episode 2...I'm suddenly good ol' Clem to them. And to Alvin, who I also threatened to blackmail. Very disappointing.

I want to be excited about the ramifications of telling Luke to shoot Carver and then staying for the beating, but episode four better bring it hard or else I'm about to write 'remembering' off as a lot of smoke blown up our collective ass.
  • Actually Carlos mentioned seconds before dying "Clem you're her friend, calm her down" so it shows he did remember.
  • He says that regardless; he does not "remember" anything.

Actually Carlos mentioned seconds before dying "Clem you're her friend, calm her down" so it shows he did remember.

  • I have a save where i said to Sarah we can't be friends and Carlos still says that in episode 3. Its like none of our choices matter this season

  • Our choices does feel poitless. At least in S1 kenny remembered your actions, but in this season they dont.

  • Good point, it's another one of the flaws that this season has shown. It's like the group have amnesia, it's at the stage now where I know they won't "remember" anything I say. I've been telling Sarah to grow up and trying to toughen her up since day one for her own sake but Carlos turns around and tells me we're great friends seemingly, "Are we?" I thought haha and here was me thinking she was a naive fool reared by an overbearing father but apparently we're the Brady bunch.
  • Not only Kenny, practically all of the cast at one point remembered something you said or did.
