Can You Stop A Walker By....

Breaking their spine? I mean, they wouldn't die, but they would be paralyzed, and therefore, not a threat. Has that ever happened in the comics or the TV show?

    Seeing as the head will still try to bite on its own (the strangers wife) i dont think they function in the same way as normal people. Aside from an actual missing limb/broken bone they just shuffle on as normal.

    Maybe drag themselves along with their arms at the most

    EEEEEWWW. I just imagined a walker walking with a broken back that's snapped in the middle at a 90 degree angle!! I have a weird mind!

    I don't think it has... the biological details have never been truly mashed out. Only that it affects the brain. I'm assuming you mean at the neck, because you see plenty of zombies without their lower half... If somebody wanted to grab a zombie's head, snap it back and forth, and see what happens, they're welcome too it, but I'm going to bet on no. Just pulling the answer out of my butt, but I'm going to say the zombie virus travels through the nervous system, even where the neurons are broken. And I'm way over analyzing this...

    in the show there was a walker that was... idk run over or something and it wasnet really a threat.

    Well the head would still be alive, so no. Remember in season 1 how the stranger kept that head alive in the bag. I think it is head or nothing. You can dismember them, but they would still be technically unalive.

    I know that the head would survive, but could you disable their body? That would make them not really a threat, as long as you watched your step.
