    Probably for character development but why did it have to be so early? And they didn't even carry it out right, since Nick can die in episode 2 and does nothing in episode 3, just bad writing

    The brutality of Carver was too much for someone like Nick. I think he was just trying to be quiet and trying not to do anything stupid in that camp.
