Time jump to allow for new possibilities?

So for those of you who didn't know, There was a time jump in the comics, which the game is said to be canon with. when the comics began, Carl was 7. now, he's 11. the comics are 4 years into the apocolypse. the game, on the other hand, is about.... 2 years in. (season 1 is 3 months, plus 6 months for Christa to start showing, plus 16 months later) now that we're 2 years behind the comics, telltale has 2 years of story material to work with. what do you guys think?
