THIS Is Why I Think People Like Kenny So Much!
Because Kenny is one of the most realistic characters! His philosophy, family first is something that the majority of people have. If you had a wife and kid you would obviously put them in front of everyone and try to protect them the most. And in real life if someone was being a dick to you and didn't side with you on important decisions, you would probably be mad too (though not mad enough to kill 'em you got me there). All his actions may have seemed wrong but in real life his actions would lead to the group's survival. Like choosing to shoot the girl who was being attacked by walkers at the beginning of episode 3. If you went the morally correct route, you most likely would have ended up dead. And it's easy to say "oh he shouldn't have done this or that" but imagine if you were in his shoes the first time you encountered the situations he encountered! You can't have morals in a zombie apocalypse, it will end up being the death of you. Kenny was just trying to keep his family alive. Like we all would've.
