Bloody Mary and ______: A Callback?

edited June 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

There have been multiple theories around the forums that Bloody Mary and Rachel are the same people due to their similar appearance, Rachel's disappearance, and Bloody Mary's unclear past. I came to the realization that telltale might've strongly hinted at this in the teaser for the next episode:

"I've heard stories about you," Bloody Mary recalls. She notes that she admire's Bigby's strength, saying that "I wish I could've seen it," So, it could be easily said that she has a history of morbid curiosity/interest in Bigby.

Remind you of someone? Her speech about Bigby shares an uncanny resemblance to Rachel's enthusiastic response to Bigby. (skip to 53:23)

Like Bloody Mary, 'Rachel' tells Bigby "I've heard about you!", and goes on an enthusiastic rant about Bigby's escapades. Perhaps Aunty Greenleaf was trying to reenact her daughter's interest in the Big Bad Wolf.

I doubt that Telltale would have two character share such strong similaries without a reason. I suspect that Telltale is trying to foreshadow that Bloody Mary is a grown-up version of Rachel.

I know that this has been discussed before, but I hope that the point I've brought up is at least a bit newer than what you've heard from everyone else.

  • Makes sense to me. I hope you're right.

  • I already suspected people were right when pointing out the physical similarities, your finding reinforces it! Nice one, man!

This thread's getting a few downvotes. Could someone explain what they dislike about this thread?

  • Because people disagree, like me. Even if this was true, I don't see it adding anything to the plot. Like OMG MAJOR PLOT TWIST that bloody mary was also this little girl too whooptie fucking doo.

  • Think about it this way; killing Bloody Mary would mean killing Sarah, Greenleaf's daughter. However, letting her go free would be allowing a murderous psychopath to roam the world. Bigby would have an extremely high-stakes moral decision.

  • Sarah? XD

  • Well in the real world if someone is accused of murder they are executed or thrown in jail, I don't think setting her free would be an option. And we already found out Rachel's true identity was Aunty Greenleaf by unglamouring her at her apartment, unless aunty Greenleaf has a glamour for bloody mary too which even if she did she would have little to no motive for killing people.

  • Eh, It wouldn't be too hard to have her start escaping through a mirror or something. That way, you can either let her escape after discovering her true identity, or kill her before she can teleport away.

And keep what I said in mind. It's possible that Aunty Greenleaf was trying to emulate her daughter's interest in The Big Bad Wolf while she was glamoured as her.

Well in the real world if someone is accused of murder they are executed or thrown in jail, I don't think setting her free would be an optio

  • Aunty Greenleaf was disguising herself as her own daughter who's name is Rachel. Either way though Bloody Mary is going to die. If she gets arrested and faces Snow White's trial in which being guilty results in capital punishment, she will be found guilty.

  • that's a really suspicious theory I do think Rachel is grown-up bloody mary too!
