Why can't I buy this seprately?

I'm looking around on the site and I'm only seeing the full Season pass. Any help?

Edit: Oops, spelled "Separately" wrong. Sorry

    I can't find it either.

I got first couple of episodes on wii and 3 & 4 on PC.
Decided to get this one on PC and I can only pay 26 or 35$ for a $9 game.

    What's the deal?
  • edited December 2008
    Same here.
  • edited December 2008
I definitely won't be buying if I can't get the last episode on its own. Don't screw with the working model, Telltale!
  • edited December 2008
This is either an oversight or just a really bad business choice but I won't be buying this game if it means paying 26 bucks for one freakin' episode. I've already bought the other four individually and I don't want to pay through the nose for this one. Come on Telltale, you've been doing the episodic thing for awhile now. Theres no excuse for at least not putting out some official word on the matter.
  • edited December 2008
Either A. it was an accident and it's gonna be fixed in just a second, or B. they're gonna give it away free. A. seems a lot more likely to me.
  • edited December 2008
I know. Why won't telltale sell it individually???
  • edited December 2008
Yup. Bought all S&M and Strongbad three first episodes individually and no, $26 for the two last episodes don't sound like a good deal to me guys.

Good to hear that everybody else is having the same issue. Stop yank'n our chains, Telltale!

    :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
This is my feelings torward you right now telltale. What the hell are you trying to pull telltale? Better have a good explanation soon, besides "we'll make more money".
  • edited December 2008
I'll bet you S&M 203 that they're gonna fix it somehow.
  • edited December 2008
Fix it somehow? Theres nothing that should have had to need fixing. They've had this system in place for 11 episodes of Sam and Max and four episodes of SBCGFAP. Theres no reason to yank individual episode buys now. At the very least we deserve some sort of explanation. This thread has been active all day, SOMEONE OFFICIAL should have said something by now.
  • edited December 2008
They probably just forgot to put it in the store, I bet you they're tryin' hard to pump out the walkthrough or something now.
    300th post btw
  • edited December 2008
Why would that even be an excuse? Its not like they'd have to play through the game to get a walkthrough done and even if that were the case why would they put that before, you know, actually giving more people the option to BUY THE GAME AND ACTUALLY BEING ABLE PLAY IT. We don't need a walkthrough if we don't have the game.

Again, they need to say something about it. All silence is doing is aggravating people.
  • edited December 2008
Yeah, I agree they should speak up, it wouldn't even be an issue if they would just fix it.
  • edited December 2008
Umm...why did they also pull every other game? This sucks! There better be a good reason!
  • edited December 2008
I have purchased Ep1 on the wii and the others on the pc i really do not want to buy them all again i don't have the money after all my christmas shopping TELLTALE SORT THIS OUT NOW PLOS!

its been hours of waiting and there are plenty of fans with money waiting to purchase it do you want our cash or not?
  • edited December 2008
I'm genuinely surprised they haven't responded yet. Telltale is acting very un-telltale like. Perhaps they are rolling out a new store? If so, bad timing.
  • edited December 2008
Lets sing to pass the time
maybe it will get me modded for being off topic and TTG will take notice of this topic

SO HERE IT IS MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODYYYYYS HAVING FUNNNN!

No, no. Don't do that. That people are voicing legitimate complaints should be enough to get their notice. Theres no need to act obnoxious about it.

    Hey guys,

Sorry for the delay in responding to this, it was a busy day!

We have something in the works for previous customers and will be sending out emails in the next day or so, so watch your inbox for that. In the meantime, if you have additional questions about this feel free to send me a PM.

(And please don't burn down my house, it's raining and I need somewhere to sleep tonight. :D)

but i really want to meet stinkoman right now ;_; YOUR HEAD IS WIDE LIKE THE RIVER YOU HAVE THE RIVER HEAD !

    wait

    > somthing in the works for previous customers

does that apply to people who only bought from Sbg2?

i wonder what it is! =D

I'm sorry but this is really unacceptable. Whoever decided to change the purchase model right before the final episode launched needs to be fired. This is horrible customer service. And while its nice that you're going to send out e-mails whenever you guys decide to do it (because god forbid we get to play it at launch like everyone else) we shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get to play something that by all means should have been just as accessible as all the other episodes.

At the very LEAST we deserve an explanation for the sudden change. If you guys planned on pulling episode to episode purchases you should have done it from the get go, BEFORE Homestar Ruiner was set to launch. This was just a jerk move.
  • edited December 2008
I am in absolute agreeance with lessthankate. This is truly unacceptable service. Telltale is generally one of my favorite companies, but this switch right before the launch of the biggest title in the Strongbad series is disturbing both as a customer, and out of concern for Telltale's bottom line. This needs rectification NOW.
  • edited December 2008
please let us buy them seperatley i was planning on buying homestar ruiner on pc too

just please go back to it right now so i can have my strongbad games and finish off this glorious saga of stories

Treating your proven consumers as an afterthought and cash cows is the telltale (how appropriate) sign of a good company gone bad. Let's hope that our fair Telltale hasn't gone down that road. I am a dedicated customer, but I know where I'm not wanted. I will take my dollars elsewhere if Telltale makes it difficult for me to give them my hard earned cash.

It just makes me wonder what they were expecting. For everyone just to pony-up and buy an upgrade or season pass? I'm not going to make any claims of feeling cheated or claim I can't afford the upgrade. I can. But the point is that we shouldn't HAVE to upgrade. It was more cost effective for me to go season to season. I picked my poison and I knew it would mean paying more in the end for the entire season. But to present us with the options of buying the entire season AGAIN or buying the entire season again for a slightly cheaper price and then not explaining why is just crap. They can put a cheerful spin on it all they want but it doesn't change the fact that they screwed up badly here and continue to do so.

I know they're going to be sending out e-mails to give us the chance to buy the episode proper but I'm honestly not sure how much I care anymore. I doubt I'll be as quick to buy season 3 of Sam and Max and further seasons of Strong Bad. This whole thing just has 'we don't care' written all over it. I feel like I've wasted my time, both today and in buying the previous episodes. And now I have to wait even longer while an e-mail gets sent out that might not even solve the problem? Whatever. If I had known I'd get screwed like this I would have waited and just bought a season pass when I could afford it in one go. Which really seems to be the message here, that they want to punish those of us who DIDN'T get a pass.

Some people are now in the position of having to pay 54 dollars to play the entire season. 7 for each of the first four games, and now 26 dollars to upgrade to the full season. Absolutely ridiculous. AT BEST they were going to piss off their BEST customers by making them wait for even longer to get at the most highly anticipated episode of the season. Bad gamesmanship, Telltale. Very poor. I've contacted the folk at Giantbomb and I hope that the story gets some air time over there. I certainly won't suffer this silly change in silence.

does this mean we are going to miss out ;_;?

Poney up the 26 bucks, wait a few days until they get their act together (and hope for an equitable solution, but don't bet on it), or suck eggs. Nice choices we have.

Actually, people who got the first four episodes from the Telltale store got a season upgrade for free earlier in the week.

Emily already replied earlier in this thread saying details will be coming soon, and they will. In all honesty, single episode sales (especially spotty single episode sales -- as in, people who don't buy them all, but just buy a few) is a fairly small slice of our customers. That said, we don't like leaving folks out in the cold, and, as Emily said earlier in the thread, we'll get something going for you soon.

    Thanks.

Bonus Hint: Stomping and swearing and threatening piracy won't help anything.
  • edited December 2008
removing seperate episode purchases didn't help anything either but you still did it we have every right to be upset with your company you can't just sell the episodes seperatley each month then go ahead and take them away at the finale you saw the sales of people buying the episodes you knew they would purchase the next one you had no reason to do it

Thanks for the slap in the face Jake. Glad to hear the month to month customers aren't important enough to you guys.
