Is it possible that Clementine is infected?

If we remember back to the first episode of Season 2, Clementine ate a can of beans. The knife she used to open the can with was covered in the walker's blood/bacteria. And the most she did was wipe it off on her jeans. Wouldn't the knife still have some traces of blood/bacteria and go into the beans when she stabbed and opened it? I know it's farfetched, but it could be like a very slow infection that will be revealed in Episode 5...

  • No, I don't think so. If she really was infected, she'd have died already.

  • Wasn't it established in the comics that only the walker's saliva and whatever is under their nails is the only thing causing infection? I never read the comics, but I do remember people mentioning that blood doesn't have the same effect. And, besides, if it was the same thing that Lee and Pete had, Clementine would have died a long time ago, the effects of the infection aren't that long to kick in.

Nah. If she was she would have probably died that same night. And its be over a week since that happened.

  • It's been two weeks, people turn in about 1-12 hours.

Why would you even say that she would be dead or have already of shown signs of the infection it's impossible :'(

  • I don't think the knife even touched the beans. All she did was open the can, not use the knife as an eating utensil.

  • Well to start everybody is infected with whatever it is that turns them into walkers, regardless of how they die. This has been well established in TWD lore in the comics, game, and TV show. Blood-borne pathogens are a possibility but I don't know how long those diseases are able to survive without a living host, but those are usually chronic diseases that takes years to kill (HIV, Hep B & C, etc). Botulism is a possibility from the can itself if it was improperly package, although those are very rare occurrences, and she would be showing symptoms by now (6 hours to 2 weeks after ingestion).

No. If they were to try to use a infection it would have to be something more practical like an infected wound.

  • WTF???????

  • I think it's something about the bacteria and shit (literally) coming up from the walker guts into the mouth. So basically every time someone gets bitten, they get a good dose of E. coli, Salmonella and shit. That means that you're infected not with the walker disease but with everyday bacteria.

I wonder if this means Lee could've been saved with some of the leftover antibiotics from Omid's wound?

  • everyone is infected cause when you die without being shot in the head you come back as a walker the bite kills you to like a poison

  • Everyone is infected

  • Yes, it's very possible because everyone is infected.
