Concerned for Episode 5
I have to start off with this disclaimer so people don't immediately get their panties in a bunch. I really like this game. Honestly, I think I am enjoying this series better than TWD right now. However, I am afraid about how Episode 5 will come out. The episodes at least in my opinion have felt very short. Episode 1, for me, was by far the best of the series because it felt like it went into detail about the story.
Im concerned only because I don't think Telltale has enough time to justly end the story with everyones fate/ outcome determined. Obviously, we will know about Bigby, Snow, Crooked Man, probably Mary but the MANY minor characters in this series will likely go unresolved. Toad, Collin, Tweedles, Nerissa, Woody, possibly beauty/beast . . . and every character in between will likely not have a "ending." Like I said I have really enjoyed playing this series but it seems Telltale is being hurt by the same thing that is downgrading TWD Season 2 : short episodes. In my opinion, episodes 2-4 just didn't have enough "material." I will applaud Telltale if they tie the knots on everyone but like I said I highly doubt that.
Anyways, what do you guys think? I would be slightly disappointed if we don't see Toad again...Does he go back to the farm? or what happens to Crane...Does he return? Whats the deal with Blue Beard? Why did he burn everything in Cranes apartment? (My theory is that it was someone in glamour) I mean there are small questions that could add up from detracting from the story if they go unmentioned. But its nearly impossible to do each character justice in 100 minutes. . .

I understand your concerns 100%. Cry Wolfs trailer looks superb if I'm honest, but judging by recent episodes we'll be lucky if the episode is even 100 minutes long. And as you mention that is not even close to the amount of time needed to wrap up every loose end.
And because they aren't going to have time to reveal every characters fate, I am hoping for a very well put together ending where we can assume all the fables are going to be safe/ dead/ or set up for another season.
I second both your's and the OP's comments. I love this game too. I never thought I'd say this, but I am also enjoying it more than TWD Season 2 right now. It doesn't help that they are taking forever to release TWD episodes. However, they're almost putting out TWAU too fast I think. I loved the past few episodes, but of course I would have loved even longer ones. I really hope that they didn't rush the finale. The only reason I'm concerned is that it's coming out so quickly (before Episode 4 of TWD is even released). The last couple were released quickly, especially Ep. 4, and they were pretty short. I'm wondering if the faster release dates are affecting the episode lengths. I could totally be wrong, it's just an assumption. I really want to see everyone's stories at least touched on, if not wrapped up, in the finale. I want resolution with all the Fables we got to know throughout the season. I'm sure the episode will be great, I just hope they don't skim over the B and C storylines and focus solely on the A storyline. TWAU has so many characters, that I do understand the difficulty in making sure everyone gets their resolution, but I think it's worth it if they really want to end the season with a bang. Your concerns are definitely valid, let's hope they end up unfounded though. I wish that they would tell us the length of each episode prior to release. It'd be good to know. I'm guessing that it has to definitely be longer than the last one.
I doubt we'll see Crane ever again. He was getting on a plane to Paris
Yes I know but that feels like a cheap way out to "eliminate" a character. Obviously, he would eventually return/ do something over there.
Let's just pray that it is lengthy and worth it..
i just hope everything will be answered and well worth it!! it got here really fast!! im hoping its not rushed!!
Well, ever since Telltale had their little issue with the release of episode 2. (whatever it was) It probably screwed up their concentration on the game and its storyline, for better or for worse, we don't know.
For Colin and Toad, you see what happens to them in the comics, so you don't have to really worry about them. For Nerrisa, I am for damn sure she'll play an important part in the final episode.
It isnt entirely cheap, as Crane is only seen in Paris in the comics, and it is mentioned it had to do with Snow, so it makes sense to do it now.
Tell Tale has to make this episode the longest maybe over 2 to 3 hours. Or make a squeal and make all the other characters have new stories in the squeal. In my opinion I think they will make a squeal there to much things going on for just one last episode the squeal might even make Bigby going to the farm. If they do this I will be happy I just hope they make a squeal. But if this episode is very short I will be mad this episode has to be the best episode it has to be longer then the rest.
We'd honestly be lucky if the last episode is at least 2 hours.
I kind of feel like we might've already said goodbye to Woody after the Pawn Shop scene.
Ok, I don't read the comics and I think 95% of people who play this game don't so I think it would be only fair if they show SOME closure on their part.
If so, that was a good way to go out I guess.
Length isn't the issue to me.
I have a question , everyone keeps saying "it happens in the comics..." does the shows follow the comics exactly? or it loosely followed much like TWD?
ok. . .so what is?
Unlike TWD, this game follows a strict cannon with the comics, and Crane getting to Paris had to happen.
Ok didn't know, thanks
Im pretty sure a lot of character arcs wont get resolved but that doesnt mean it cant end satisfactorily. Im actually hoping they dont so I can have hope for a second season.
I feel like the major rewrite of the season after Ep. 2 was the reason that the other episodes have become so short. Ep. 1 and 3 were great because it went into details in different part of Fabletown, but Ep. 2 and Ep. 4 were really short. All I expect for Ep.5 is a worthy wrap of the whole mystery, however long it may take.
I also hope that they make a DLC or hopefully even a S2 which will cover the topics and characters barely touched in S1 through a new story or maybe a DLC like 400 Days where we go around and see stories through different Fable's point of view.
They don't need to go into detail in the future of every single character. If Crane does return for instance it would be another story. Crane's involvement in this story is done and this story is just a part of a larger canon.
So far the game fits comics, but there are some differences though. In comics Bigby has his super-sensitive hearing and smelling, and in the beginning of Fables Snow has no feelings towards him (or at least carefully hides them). In the comics Bigby solves cases much easier and almost always transforms in full wolf form at once.
I was just using Crane as an example. Crane does sort of have an ending (being in Paris) so I rather see Telltale focus on the other characters BUT i wouldn't mind if they add closure for him as well.
The characters that where not playing part later in comics, like Crane which by canon to the comics can't appear again, have to have their stories concluded otherwise theres no satisfaction of meeting them in the first place, what do I care if I burned down Greenleafs tree if I don't ever hear from her again for example.
The achievements thing indicates that not to be the case, as did the previous episode's.
We all know there was a re-write between episodes 1 and 2. The quality has been OK, but not as good as it should have been.
Agreed. I feel really empty with some of the decisions because I know nothing will come of them. For example, If I killed TweedleDee (or which ever one you and the option to kill) what is to come of that? I want TweedleDumb to show anger if I kill him, or TweedleDee to show sympathy is I spared him.
