Who Was In The Wrong At The Dinner Argument In S2E2?

I'd say it was all Kenny's fault, he starts being an asshole to Nick and Luke by patronizing them and such and then says "Whats the matter with these guys Clem?!". I made sure to scold Kenny for that, what a dick

  • Well, they were having a calm discussion until Nick chimes in that he thinks Wellington "sounds like bullshit". I'm not laying any blame here. I'm just saying that's where it started.

  • Well technically, the hostility started when Kenny responded to Luke's completely valid question of "Wellington? What's that?" with a needlessly rude "A place, genius."

  • Nick kind of added to it but I think Kenny was being unnecessarily impatient and rude to them throughout the conversation.

  • I forgot about that. I thought it as more of a joke rather than a dig at Luke's intelligence, but hey, that's just me.

  • Kenny clearly meant it as an insult judging by his voice. But that's not to say Nick helped the situation at all :P

  • Well, Nick DID come in Kenny's home and act rude first, so I'd say he started it. I also think Kenny overreacted though. He has never taken people criticizing his plans well.

  • Not to mention but Kenny said that Clem is staying without asking her and thats what got Luke in it by saying "Excuse me" and giving him a look

  • Kenny was just rude during that part, mocking people for not knowing is just plain ruuuude...

  • I'd say it was all Kenny's fault

Well that's really surprising coming from a guy with the username ''Kennysucks''.

  • Yeah, thanks OBAMA!

  • I played that part recently and I think the beginning of it was when Kenny mentioned Michigan and Nick was like, "Michigan?". That set Kenny off a bit asking if he had a hearing problem. Nick definitely added to the argument but I think Kenny instigated it a bit more.

  • Actually, it started when Kenny went and insulted the two of them by implying that they're gay.

Not that it's an insult to be gay, just to Nick it is.

Well technically, the hostility started when Kenny responded to Luke's completely valid question of "Wellington? What's that?" with a needlessly rude "A place, genius."

  • I think it was Nick and Luke in all honesty. Clem chose to sit with Kenny and they were having a nice conversation, those two barge in, insult Kenny's plan, shrug off his hospitality and say they now have custody over Clem. Dafuq? How isn't Kenny gonna get mad?

Although it might be more tilted to Kenny if you sat with the cabin crew but Jesus, he just wants to see the little girl that he hasn't saw for 2 YEARS and they still insult his plan and say they have rights to Clem

  • Kenny was being rude to them first though

I think it was Nick and Luke in all honesty. Clem chose to sit with Kenny and they were having a nice conversation, those two barge in, insu

  • Kenny technically insulted them first, and multiple times too. I don't recall them claiming ownership of Clem, either. When did this happen?

I think it was Nick and Luke in all honesty. Clem chose to sit with Kenny and they were having a nice conversation, those two barge in, insu

    • You can't blame them for "barging over" since Kenny did the same thing in other peoples playthroughs.

    • Kenny actually insults them first when he refers to them as gay. While being gay isn't an insult, you can tell he meant offense by the tone of his voice.

    • while Nick should've been more polite about it, they're merely bringing up the possibility that Wellington is nothing but a pipe dream. (something Kenny seems to hate for some reason.) Remember the whole boat fiasco? That would have ended in failure if they didn't strike lucky and hide in the one house that has a boat.

    • Luke and Nick never claim custody over Clem, they merely say their group is.leaving in the morning. Kenny is guilty of trying to make Clems decisions for her.

I think it was Nick and Luke in all honesty. Clem chose to sit with Kenny and they were having a nice conversation, those two barge in, insu

    1. Well like I said, Kenny hadn't seen Clem for 2 years which kinda gives him more of a reason to check on her and see how she is doing
    2. Kenny was only poking fun, Jesus Christ why are people to touchy about a few gay jokes these days? I myself like men and I don't get all 'boo-hoo' about a gay joke. I don't think he meant offence, he was just taking a guess or poking fun.
    3. All I can say to that is, you are correct. Wellington seems like a pipe dream BUT its worth a shot at least. Nick shouldn't of insulted his plan in the first place
    4. Kenny - "Whats the deal with these guys Clem?!" Nick - "Hey fuck you buddy!" Luke - "Its fine Nick, we're not staying" So yeah, WE as in Clem also. Then if you want to stay with Kenny, Luke gets all butthurt about it.

  • First off. Kenny indirectly refers to them as a gay couple, saying that they for sure do look like a "match"
Not trying to be homophobic or anything, but I wouldn't like if a randy accused me of being homosexual when he doesn't know if I am or not.

Then Kenny says "You got a hearing problem, boy?!" after Nick asks him a simple question. This obviously pisses Nick off and he goes on to say that the "Wellington Thing" sounds like bullshit. Kenny then insults him "Listen, vanilla ice. I don't know-"

Obviously, Kenny was the one who was in the wrong. But I decided to stay neutral in the argument.

His tone of voice didn't really sound like a joke though.
Also Nick wasn't insulting his PLAN, he was more saying that wellington sounds like a "Pipe dream" as you said.

    * Well like I said, Kenny hadn't seen Clem for 2 years which kinda gives him more of a reason to check on her and see how she is doing * Ke

  • Kenny was being belligerent, probably because he was trying to establish that he's the one in charge. Nick certainly didn't help, but it was mostly Kenny.

    • he spoke to her by the fire and he would have had plenty of time to talk after the meal.

    • It was a joke at the expense of Luke and Nick. When you first meet someone and want them to like you, you try to make a good first impression. You don't "poke fun" at the first chance you properly get. As I also said previously, you can tell by the tone of his voice that he meant to aggravate.

    • Perhaps Nick was just poking fun at Kenny? But I can't defend Nick, he was no saint in the conflict.

    • By we he clearly means the Cabin group and Clem if she wants to go. He never straight up says "clem is leaving with us" unlike Kenny who says you're staying without even asking your opinion. God forbid Luke gets upset that a girl he's come to care for over the past week wants to ditch him. Likewise, Kenny gets "butthurt" if you tell him to back off and you wish to leave.

    * Well like I said, Kenny hadn't seen Clem for 2 years which kinda gives him more of a reason to check on her and see how she is doing * Ke

  • Kenny's tone sounded like it was meant to aggravate them besides I for know about you but when some guy I don't even know starts calling me gay for no reason then I'd probably take offense (not because they're saying I'm gay but because they're making unecessary assumptions)

    * Well like I said, Kenny hadn't seen Clem for 2 years which kinda gives him more of a reason to check on her and see how she is doing * Ke

  • I think clem should run away for both they make me think they have problems with leting go of clem like a addiction

At first Kenny was just being comedic about the gay thing probably trying to light up the mood.. I mean they are serving the cabin group all bloody dinner so they are being pretty hospitable...Kenny has been through a lot and is more emotional, defensive and touchy this time around. So when he got a whiff Luke doubted him he reacted.. Its like the "boat" plan... anyone who disagrees cops it.. But Nick got on his nerves "sounds like bullshit" if Nick said something other than that doubt kenny would of gotten pissed.

  • Kenny was obviously being a confrontational ass. Starting a pissing match with peoole he considered weaker than him. I told him to stop being rude and show some etiquette.

  • Luke stopped with his spoon halfway to his mouth and looked at Kenny like "what the fuck!?"

Actually, it started when Kenny went and insulted the two of them by implying that they're gay. Not that it's an insult to be gay, just to Nick it is.

  • In my playthrough Kenny came to our table, Kenny unessisarily tried to agrivate Nick and Luke, he also tried to state that Clem is staying with him and that Luke, Nick and the others are getting kicked out in the morning, that prompts Luke to say "Excuse Me?" and give kenny a look because Kenny didnt ask for Clems opinion and in some playthroughs Clem had told Luke shes going with him

I think it was Nick and Luke in all honesty. Clem chose to sit with Kenny and they were having a nice conversation, those two barge in, insu

  • Sorry kenny fans, it was kenny. That "you guys look like a match" joke probably pissed them off, and then he overreacts during the wellington talk.

  • As every argument starts its a matter of opinion. Nick said the first rash thing and Kenny being very hot headed took it as an insult. Personally, I think Kenny was the one who took it to the level where it was personal.

  • Mostly Kenny and Nick were in the wrong. Luke did get a little indignant, but he wasn't as heated as those two. They both have strong tempers, so instead of dealing with rude comments calmly, they both just start to blow up at each other. The only one completely innocent in that situation was Clem.

As for who started it - whoever made the first rude comment.

To most it's an insult to be gay. Kenny should have been punched in the mouth .

  • It's not really an insult to be gay.

It's just that Nick was called something that he knows he wasn't, so he got defensive.
