Yahtzee's take on adventure games.

edited December 2008 in General Chat
Famous game critic Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw has recently put up a pilot for a potential game show with two of his friends from australiangamer.com. On one of the show segments, Yathzee took the time to briefly analize the evolution of adventure games.

Though I certainly disagree with him on some aspects, the guy do make some good points.

Anyway, here's the video, the part I'm talking about starts up around 22:27.

Interesting. The show looks fairly promising.:)

Hopefully it will be just as good as Zero Punctuation.

I was a fan of his writing way before Zero Punctuation; The guy used to write a column on adventuregamers.com.

I've never really been a fan of Yahtzee. His reviews are amusing, but he tends to favor entertainment over accuracy. Almost like he only plays a game just long enough to find something to mock. He does make good points sometimes, but, as they say, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. :)

True, but that's why I watch his reviews, mainly for entertainment. I believe that I don't need some person I don't know (who I also disagree with on many levels) to tell me whether or not to buy a game.

I totally respect that. On a purely entertainment level, his reviews are great. I've quite enjoyed several of them. I liked his Psychonauts review, for example.

I'd be interested in watching more of that show if it does get picked up, though. It at least deserves a chance to prove itself.

I have virtually no interest in most of the games he reviews, so I also watch ZP for entertainment. I don't know about the Game Damage thing, though. I guess it's good for a first episode that's not really produced by anybody except the guys doing the show.

I just can't take anything seriously from a guy wearing that much make-up.

*goes and looks at the video again*

Wow, you're right. I hadn't noticed the first time.

Pretty much anyone on TV wears that much make-up. It's just not usually so unsubtly applied. :p
