Crane, probably. What's he doing over in Europe? Could be interesting for the protagonist to be kind of a cowardly sort. That doesn't happen too often.
Nobody would want to play as a skinny, frail coward like Crane.
Maybe not in a main series, but in an DLC? Some of the characters in the The Walking Dead: 400 Days were pretty cowardly or even unlikeable. Bonnie, for example. And Wyatt.
Also, Ichabod Crane versus the Headless Horseman in Europe? How would that not be cool?
You make a good point, that would actually be pretty awesome. He's just gotta man up eventually, if he ever does.
I just reread the bio of Crane from the game, where it says that some people believe he just invented the story of the Horseman to explain why he had to leave Sleepy Hollow. But wouldn't it be neat if it turned out that crazy stuff was happening to Crane all the time but nobody believed him? I mean, the guy must be pretty damn smart--he ran Fabletown for who knows how long? He can't be an utter failure.
