Judging from the cars and the telephones we see in the game, it seems to be the 1980s. The cellphone Georgie uses to call either the Crooked Man or Bloody Mary, is as big as a brick.
no the movie poster in chapter one is 1998 if i remember correctly.
so I would say it is 1997/1998.(although your point on the cellphone is valid they already made slightly smaller phones in the late 90s)
It's not the 90's. The poster says "In the Dark Future of 1998" or whatever year.
My guess going by the phones, the clothing, and some of the other tech would be sometime around 1983 - 1985. And, I'm not a New Yorker, but I noticed they show Checker Taxi Cabs. Didn't they stop manufacturing those in the early 80's?
