What was the reason behind telltale stopping hubs?

Might be a stupid question but i don't actually know why telltale stopped doing hubs? They're are some in Season 2 but no where as good as Season 1.
I just don't understand why they would get rid of something that was so well liked by the fans. I remember that's what made the train scene in episode 3 of season 1 so good, was that you could explore the train, the whole scene of the train, the bush, the wreckage (which was beautiful) and interacting with the characters. I mean, when you see complaints, it's mostly "The time duration of episodes is too short" and "I don't feel that connection with season 2 characters as i do with season 1". If they did hubs and even puzzles, that would help both those complaints,no?

  • I think it's because of the plot.... they don't really have much time to take a breather right now

Episode 1 didn't need a hub. Episode 2 technically had a small one. Episode 3 I can see your point. You get this big place but you are confined to a few small locations despite the 2nd half of the episode being all about escaping. I really didn't mind the more on rails approach of episode 3 but I can see why others were disapointed.

I think episode 4 will be a major hub episode. Everyone will finally get their break and have time to hit chat. Especially seeing by the teaser at the end of Episode 3, it seems like there will be more time with character development. I'm not 100% positive though

  • Why? Simply put.

When Season 1 was out, it was all the team was working on. They had a lot of time to perfect the episodes and go in deep into making development.

Here's Season 2. Being worked on the same time as The Wolf Among Us. Sure, while two different teams, it still means that they're crunching for time, trying to push it out ASAP. Not adding hubs/dialogue = episodes releases faster.

  • I do see why people are upset about there not being enough content. Just trying to be optimistic about things :/

  • Don't forget Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones.

  • It would have made sense if they made a hub in the cabin. You're thrown to a house full of new characters, and you don't really get a chance to talk with them. They should've made a camp-like place during the walk in Episode 2, it would've made sense too. The small hub in Episode 3 was something, but they should've expanded on that.

It's all part of a conspiracy to insert ramble about kennedy got murderd by the CSI/FBI/NRI/other Acronyms.
