I think it depends on the situation. If Clem is all alone and everybody else has died, then Nate will take her like he took Russell and not hurt her unless she tries something.
I'm hoping this happens in the next episode, actually, and we have to rescue Eddie or something along those lines. From what I saw of Nate's bahavior in 400 Days, I think it's safe to say he's probably a psychopath, and they don't last long in groups, so I suspect he's beaten whoever he has with him into submission, if he's even still alive. With any luck, I also hope to see Nate as a contrast to Carver's appearance, and how some might want to have him back as opposed to dealing with Nate and his craziness.
P.S. Also, considering Russel was the least likely to get to stay with the group in 400 Days, I wonder if his absence will play an interesting part if we do see Nate, because Russel is the only one who has any history with him and so can warn others.

I don't HATE you, but if his... sexual tendencies... show, I'd rather he direct it toward someone like Bonnie or Jane (he'll end up dickless in 5 seconds).
