Does Kenny remind you of any other character, whether in a videogame, tv show, or movie?

edited July 2014 in The Walking Dead

Now that we're in season 2, Kenny's starting to remind me of Kevin Costner's, Devil Anse Hatfield, from the Hatfields&McCoy's miniseries.
Not just by the way he looks, although granted that is a given.
But also from the character he's displaying.

Devil Anse, was a violent man.
Kenny has shown he can be very violent in certain situations, which he clearly demonstrated in how he killed Carver.

Devil Anse had a temper.
Kenny is also a hot tempered man.

Devil Anse, was a devoted Father.
Kenny has shown himself to be the same, both towards Duck, and now towards Clementine, though granted she isn't his actual daughter.

Being a mountain man, Devil Anse was an excellent shot.
Kenny has grown to be quite a marksman in his own right.

Devil Anse, was a leader.
Kenny has shown natural leadership qualities.

Devil Anse, inspite of being illiterate, was an intelligent man.
He foiled Perry Clint's attempt to steal his land, among other things.
Kenny has shown himself to be intelligent as well, especially when it comes to problem solving.
Neither is the dumb Hillbilly, or backwards redneck, they appear to be.

Devil Anse was strong, tough man.
And considering that he lived in the mountains, it's easy to see why.
You don't live to 82 yrs old, in that kind of area, doing the kind of hard work he did to make a living, without being both strong and tough.

Kenny has survived the St Johns, in which he was shot in the side at point-blank-range with a rifle. The death of his family. Crawford. Being trapped in an alleyway of walkers and later months on his own afterwards. And also survived one of the worst beatdowns in TWD to date. You gotta be tough to make it through all that!

  • Does Kenny from The Walking Dead Game count? XD jk

I can't really say that Kenny reminds me of anyone in particular, but I have to say that's a good thing, it means that Kenny is one of kind... at least in my book and Telltale did a good job in developing his character. :p

  • I'm most likely the only one who thinks this, but I'd say a combination of Joel from TLOU and Rick from the TV Series. All of them have grown to be more violent than that of the average person at times. All of them have/had kids and have shown that they will do anything to protect them. While Rick has already been in the leader position, Kenny and Joel both have the traits of becoming one. Oh, and all of them have BEARDS!
