Nick's Role in Episode 4 thoughts

So, unfortunately, as we all know, Nick is a determinant character. He wasn't shown in the Episode 3 trailer or in this most recent trailer, as to avoid any spoilers(? I guess) and any possible different plot changes.

But how long through Episode 4 do you think Nick will live? If you think he'll die, how do you think he'll die?

Save Nick

EDIT: Let me know if you think I should spoiler tag for any reason.

Notice how their clothes are all clean now in the trailer? He's gonna show them where the fucking river is so they can wash their clothes.

Kill Nick in EP2 and you'll smell like rotting walker guts for the rest of the season.

But seriously though, I think he'll serve as some sort of anchor to Luke. So without Nick Luke might act a bit harsher, more pragmatic than ever.
They're childhood friends, and essentialy Nick's all Luke's got left , and vice-versa.

Telltale better not pull an off screen death on us.

  • That's a good point. But in episode 3, Nick was agreeing with Luke's ideas and said he was making sense. Maybe a lack of Nick will push Luke to make those same choices because he knew Nick would agree with him.

  • I think he will make it past the episode.

  • What if Nick went after Sarah if you saved him? I really hope he survived this ep

  • I think there was some unused audio suggesting some people had gone after Sarah, and since Luke and Nick weren't in the trailer, some people thought the two of them ran outta there to look for her. Buuut I guess it's just a theory.

  • A game theory! ;)

  • What if you have to choose Nick or Sarah to save if Nick survived episode 2? Probably not, Nick most likely would have followed Luke.

Tbh I think he is gonna die within the first 10min of the episode.

I was thinking that he might die in this episode, maybe risking his life to save someone. I think there might be a slight chance that he could actually live this whole season. Like in TWAU, some of the determinant characters got to live, but we'll see what happens. B]

I mean...cough cough yes keep Nick alive!

  • Nick has proven to be a pretty popular character, and not just on this forum. Telltale clearly listens to their fans (just look at Kenny's return) so while I feel just as afraid as you guys, considering how we didn't see him at ALL in the trailer, I wouldn't lose all hope. Keep in mind... the trailer is just a 2:00 preview of a 1 and a half hour long episode--perhaps it might even be longer, as TWAU is over now.

  • We didn't see him in EP3's trailer too but he is still alive. I think trailers don't feature determinants characters for whatever reason.

  • Back in Season 1 episode 4's trailer, Ben wasn't shown in the trailer so a lot of people thought he would die but he could (by choice) be in the last episode but he wasn't a determinant at that time.
Honestly, Nick could add more respect to himself if he doesn't die in this episode because think about it, how many characters who have been a determinant character lasted this long? They could alwayshave him die somehow and make it effect Luke, kind've likehow it effected Kenny back in season 1. I think it would be a good idea because Luke fans would be asked the question "If Luke turned more negative and more angry because Nick died" Then it would make them think twice about how theysee him. That's whattheydid with Kenny in Season 1.
But, i hope Nick doesn't die. His a good character.

  • His role in episode 3 was to say nothing half the episode and then agree with everything Luke said. Hope they give him some more love before he meets his maker.

  • "So, what should we do to Nick in episode 4?"

    "Keep him alive!"

"Let him be Pizza vs. Ice cream with Luke! That'll teach those Nuke shippers!"

    "Pull an Omid."

    "OMG YES!"

    "Great idea!"

    "You're promoted!"

Tbh I think he is gonna die within the first 10min of the episode.

  • I hope Telltale doesn't put Nick in the background as they did in Episode 3. It would be waste of a character.

  • I think he's gonna have a bigger role than just sleeping on a bed like in EP3.

I'm not sure what could he do, but him doing nothing pissed his fans (me too), so Telltale will fix it, at least we can hope for that happening.

Or I'm just too big Nick fan and I want him to survive all seasons. :(

    SaveNick

  • He'll cause quantum effects inside the game and make himself free from his determined death.

  • Nick has really grown on me,sucks in my playthrough he's dead :( what would be great if season 3 had season 2 choices carried over and for some Nick was still alive, wow, mind blown

  • The "All Fall Down" achievement suggests an Alamo-style showdown with the undead, at least to me. I'm guessing most of the cast is going to meet their maker near the end of episode 4, Nick included. I just hope the poor guy has something to contribute to the story before he bites the dust.

  • that will be shame,Nick is super popular

  • Nick will step up to protect the group when it counts, and will ultimately sacrifice himself to save everyone, and Luke specifically (who will carry that survivor's guilt into the next episode).... conversely, if Nick is already dead in your version, there will be no way to save Luke.

  • I actually had a crazy idea a while ago that was something like that. Like if Nick lives through episode 2, he sacrifices himself and Luke lives. But, if Nick dies in your playthrough, Luke sacrifices himself and there's no way to save him, so he dies. Pretty interesting idea. But there's a lot of people supporting the pizza or ice cream choice.

  • He'll at least last the same amount of episodes as Carley/Doug if he dies in episode 4, but I think Nick should be kept alive, I mean TWAU has determinant characters that don't die at the end, so why can't TWD?

  • Nick's role in EP4: Alive, that's all I want.

  • We've seen the good side and the bad side of Nick. I really like the guy but it is always possible that he could have another itchy trigger finger moment. Everyone seems to expect him to go out in a heroic sacrifice so I'm just considering alternate possibilities.
