I've never really played that many Japanese games, but this one was really good, the plot twists caught me off guard. It's very story heavy, with the first 20 minutes being one of those text cut scenes. Here's an image of the game:
Silent Hill 2 is definitely one of the best games ever made. Plot is unique and characters are very interesting and well created. But if I had to create my Top 5 list, it would look like this:

It was actually a pretty decent game, it was just unfortunate enough to be a sequel to the much superior Dragon Age Origins.
Still enjoyed it though. Sarcastic Hawke was awesome.
