BSG Returns.. what'd you think?

edited March 2009 in General Chat
So... hmm. I think I enjoyed maybe 50% of that episode.

The rundown
Kara's storyline: interesting
Roslin's freakout: less so
Adama's freakout: even less so
Dee: :(
Tyrol's discovery: kind of cool
"You were there! And YOU were there!": Hmm... ¬¬
The final cylon: really? no... really?
I'm not sure how I feel about that fact that the episode spent a ton of time implying pretty strongly that Kara was the final cylon. At the time I was a little annoyed that it was the most obvious possible person, but then it's revealed to be tigh's wife, which is ultimately a sort of disappointing choice. So what's with Kara? I guess we'll find out.

Also, side note: Did anyone else see the KFC commercial for a contest to win a "Frak Pak"? Does that name choice seem really unfortunate to anyone else?

It had it's ups and downs but all the twists were really good
    - Earth populated by cylons, something I expected (nice nod to the old Cylon models)
    - I always suspected Kara to be some sort of special hybrid, although things now got a whole lot weirder with her finding her dead body and all... unless everybody turns out to be cylons....hmmm...
    - From the moments Dee picked up the stuff on Earth and started acting weird, I thought she would be the big final cylon reveal. But then ofcourse she shot herself.
    - Although I didn't really liked the Ellen character, I like the reveal she is the final cylon and that the whole thing is just a twisted love story.

That's exactly what we said, although this is very unlikely.
What I don't understand is how
Tigh's wife died once and was reborn, but when she died a second time, she wasn't reborn. Also, I asked my mom why Dee shot herself (yes, my mom watches BSG also) and she said because Dee figured that it would never get any better than it was at that moment.
It wasn't a very good episode, in my opinion, but it DID reveal the 5th cylon mystery. Still, it brought out a new mystery with Kara. Hopefully the next episode will be better.

We don't know that but due to the fact that she's now pretty important I think that she'll turn up again. (Plus the first time she appeared, everyone thought she was dead too)

It's kind of a low energy, downer episode for a season premiere with everyone reflecting on how messed up the situation is. It's 100% in-line with the characters though, since
the culmination of the fleet's single goal, aside from survival, has been a farce
. I have faith it will pick up shortly.
But Kara discovering her own dead body had my heart pounding.

The thing is we don't understand the nature of the Final Five regeneration yet, which may explain why Ellen survived the first attack (if she were actually killed once there) but will hopefully primarily explain how the rest of them are still alive two thousand years later.

Historically, revelations and explanations have been awesome in this show and I really hope they don't leave its conclusion to "our imaginations."

I hate to bump an old topic, but I have to talk about BSG.
The last few episodes have been epic! I can't wait for next week's! Does anyone else feel my excitement?
