The illusion of choice is becoming pretty threadbare

Season 1: Save Carley or Doug. Each has a large role to play in the next two episodes. Each has plenty of dialogue. Each has a unique way of defending the motor inn, or dealing with the St. Johns, or reacting when the bandits attack in Episode 3. Each dies in a different way when Lily loses it. The dialogue of those around them changes quite a bit, as well.

Season 2: Save Alvin and Nick. Alvin spends the whole of Episode 3 beaten up in a chair, saying nothing until about three sentences just before he inevitably dies anyway. Hardly anyone's dialogue changes much to reflect his death or survival. Nick becomes a borderline mute in Episode 3 then dies without fanfare in Episode 4, almost completely forgotten by everyone, including his best friend Luke.

Season 1: Steal the supplies from the station wagon or don't. Clem gets new clothes for the remainder of the season if you do. Dialogue changes up to episodes 4 and 5, including your interactions with the stranger at the very end.

Season 2: Steal the medicine from Alvo or don't. You get held up by his friends and accused of stealing. Not even the dialogue really changes.

There has never been much real 'choice' in this series. Things tend to happen the same way regardless. But now its like they're not even putting in the minimal effort to disguise it, to make it feel like your choices matter.

Oy. I think I may just watch future Telltale games on YouTube. Its pretty much the same experience without spending any money.

Couldn't agree more.. This is really bad. I mean really, really bad. I don't care for the characters anymore.

I barely hesitated when I left Sarah behind. Her reaction was unbelievably silly. I mean she is conscious, able to talk and to reason because she says she feels alone and that's perfectly understandable. Then Clem tells her she is gonna die if she persists to behave like a kid. Then Clem tells her to move, god damn it.. Walkers are destroying the door. She doesn't move. A bit.. It doesn't make sense. Fear makes you move even in her condition.

I didn't hesitate at all when I killed Rebecca.. Yeah I know what you are thinking but I am not a psychopath, the end of season 1 was really painful to me because I cared about Lee and Clem. Now I think having Clem for season 2 was probably a bad idea.. You are right OP something has definitely changed between the two seasons. The fact Clem behaves like an adult feels weird. She is as efficient as Jane when killing walkers. I mean come on... It seems like whoever did the writing took the wrong decision a few episodes back and he is now stuck and he has to finish. I could go on and on about what's wrong with this episode but it would take a hell of a time.

I hope episode 5 will be good, I am not sure if I will buy season 3. It depends on the main character. I need something new, something fresh..

Oh and I know a lot of you guys are gonna (strongly) disagree with me. That's just my opinion.. Peace !
