Your opinion on characters in episode 4?
Just want to know what you thought of certain characters in episode 4? Which do you like/dislike; which pissed you off; which did you mourn for?
(Characters to discuss: Kenny; Sarah; Luke; Rebecca; Jane; Mike; Bonnie).
My opinion:
Kenny:- He kind of pissed me off this episode quite a bit. He did stay in character with him being on and off and off the wall/unstable and I understand him being angry/upset about his girlfriend but the stuff he said to Clem was pretty off/too far; his violent outbursts got a little old; his weirdness with the baby just got on my nerves; and his arguing with Luke just seemed like a repeat of every other episode. I warmed up to his character when he decided to help but all in all I just had a "God Kenny is such a twat" thought pattern during the episode.
Sarah: Was super annoyed (more at TellTale than the actual character) that there was no progression with her character, she was just a mute throughout the episode until TellTale decided to kill her regardless of your choices.
Luke: What an unbelievable prick! He was one of my favourite characters but all my respect for him it utterly gone. Not only was he totally useless= bailing on Clem; not being able to sort Sarah out; picking himself over the other characters in the trailer; not really being upset about Nick; not keeping watch; sleeping with Jane was so fucking stupid (I get him wanting a moment to get away/of pleasure but when a woman is giving birth you need to think with your head NOT your dick, twat); him being more upset about Jane (a chick he doesn't know that he banged for like 2 minutes) leaving over Nick (his lifelong friends) being brutally killed; him arguing constantly with Kenny was just annoying and just really unhelpful. Just really don't fuss for his character any more.
Rebecca: I actually really warmed up to Rebecca this episode. I kind of resented her a bit because of how she treated Clem for a few episodes but when she said Clem was family and offered to let Clem hold the baby I thought it was really lovely. I shot her because I didn't want to baby to get hurt but I felt bad doing it and was upset about her death.
Jane: She was more or less a carbon copy of Molly. Honestly is Telltale even trying? A broody survivalist loner with a tragic back-story involving her sister who opens up and helps out the group only to disappear with little explanation? I liked the time with her when she was showing Clem how to survive on her own, that was great, but I didn't like her constant brooding/her constantly bringing up her sister/her constant "I've been through this before blah blah" (literally every character there has lost someone they love, shut the fuck up Jane you're not special); wanting to let Sarah die (I don't know how old her sister was but Sarah is a little girl who just saw her dad die, it's a totally different situation); how she treated Arvo was just extreme and unnecessary; her sleeping with Luke was super stupid and out of character (she's constantly going on about surviving and being aware/ready; always on Clem's case about it too and yet she'll let her guard down and sacrifice the safety of everyone (including herself) for a quick shag with that twat?); her leaving in that broody way just pissed me off, part of me wanted to reject the nail file out of principle and I wasn't even upset about her leaving, I wanted her to go because her cliché moody survivalist conversations/actions were just getting old.
Mike: Was a breath of bloody fresh air. That scene at the museum was great he was funny and seemed like a genuinely nice/caring guy who just wanted to help out and was actually useful unlike almost everyone else. I'll be upset if he's dead next episode from that gun fight.
Bonnie: Still don't totally trust her but she's one of the few character I didn't mind and actually helped the group rather than hindered it.
So what did you guys think? Which characters did you like and dislike in episode 4? Don't get me wrong I didn't hate the episode or anything, I quite liked it, and it's good that the characters have flaws and are assholes because that's what people are like in real life I just wanted to express some opinions.
Comments
Everyone except Arvo.
Kenny: Still an a-hole.
Sarah: Nothing much happened.
Luke: I don't see why he got hate, but Kenny and Luke's fights are just pissing me off.
Rebecca: I still liked her, what a way to go, surrounded by angry Russians.
Jane: I liked sad she left, but oh well.
Mike: Finally, comic relief!
Bonnie: still like her.
Nick: I will write you a novel, maybe a series of novels, of how bad his death was! It wasn't made right! One of the few character deaths offscreen and we had to kill him.the best part was seeing his hair, cool hair. Zombies have gotten better send offs than him, he deserved better.
Arvo: I think he's cool.
Rebecca: Warmed up to her a lot this episode! Those two have come a long way from episode one, and her considering Clementine as family was one of the sweetest moments of this episode. I'm sad to see her go, especially after just having her baby. I predicted it, but it was still sad.
Jane: I'm glad she left. She was hypocritical. I mean, she has problems with Rebecca wanting to raise a baby in the ZA yet she goes and has sex with Luke? I honestly hope she doesn't return.
Luke: I love him but he disappointed me this episode. I want him to redeem himself for this mistake and have a deep conversation with Clem next episode. Since Nick is now dead in everyone's games, can we please have him talk about their friendship? About how they were as kids? I wish they took a 'Luke struggling with Nick's death' route for some development as opposed to him having sex with someone he's known for less than a day.
Mike: MVP OF THIS EPISODE. I seriously love him so much now. He's hilarious, appreciates what Clem does for the group, and his banter with Bonnie is great.
Bonnie: Not going to lie, I didn't think much of Bonnie coming into this episode. I didn't really like her, but now I think I adore her. She's so cute and sweet.
Nick: I love him to death and I will never forget how crappy his death was. He was the most developed character this season and he gets the worst deaths ever. All that development and potential gone to waste. At least Rebecca had the decency to shed a few tears over him. I wanted to get to say goodbye to Nick while he was still alive. Let him know how much I grew to care for him. sigh he, Luke and Clementine would have been the best ot3 (aside from Clem/Mike/Bonnie).
Kenny: Eh. I felt bad for him, but he scared the crap out of me this episode. Plus his obsession with the baby started creeping me out a little.
Sarah: Poor girl. I didn't abandon her, but she was understandably in such denial over her dad's death afterwards. Her death is freaking brutal if you do decide to leave her behind, judging from what I've seen on Youtube. My brother wanted me to leave her, but I couldn't. She served as a great foil to Clem's character and independence. Lee and Carlos protected their girls differently for the same reasons and these were the outcomes.
Arvo: He's pretty cool. He seemed to actually like Clementine and regret whatever kind of harm his friends could do to her friends. I think he also tried to prevent his friends from hurting them once he learned there was a baby involved in the mix. It's also a nice change to see someone who doesn't have English as their first language.
