Killing **** the way Telltale did only proved him right
Anyone remember this little speech?
"We're all so fucked. This world is fucked. I mean, what's the point? We'll just march to some new place and somebody else will die. It's never gonna stop. And eventually, it'll be our turn."
Never before in a video game have I wanted to prove a character wrong so badly. I knew I couldn't alter the world around Clem, but at the very least, I could demonstrate to Nick through my personal actions as Clem that the world wasn't entirely fucked.
But Nick's death was so abrupt, so dismissive, it did more than just show the player that Nick's fatalistic opinion about the future was correct; it proved the Telltale writers themselves agreed with Nick. It was if the poor guy could sense his fate all the way back in episode 2. In retrospect, I don't blame him for chugging down as much booze as he did.

If you ask me, he was killed off in a really cheap manner. And in all honesty? It really irked me. He had so much potential as a character and given the fact that he had so little screen time in episode 3 they should've made him more important this episode and have him die later on.
Yeah, I was thinking even If he died he should have some importance but he didn't.... #RIPNick
I wish each character died in a special kind of way, but when it comes to The Walking Dead Universe.... you breath and you risk your life...
Clem:...Nick's gone Luke, I'm so sorry.
Luke: Shit that's too bad I guess.
Jane: Lol, I'm leaving.
Luke: WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME!
Kenny: Really Luke? Of all the childish bullshit...
Depressing, but accurate. Not only is death an inevitability, but apparently in S2 most will pass with little to no consequence, as if you never existed at all. No wonder he chose to spend his last days on earth sleeping, dreaming about Luke, and barely speaking.
