My choices were in line with most here - I shot Rebecca without hesitation. However, the choices available don't mesh with previous events - I felt the whole episode was lazy and undirected; an insult to the previous episodes.
These are the choices I really wanted:
Slap Sarah's face as the first choice. Catatonic people need shocking back to reality. My Clem is a badass - why wait. Alternatively, put Sarah out of her misery and leave.
Bind and gag Arvo or put a screwdriver through his temple. Seriously, is Clementine going to let someone go free again after the Carver fiasco. Especially someone trying to hide Oxycodone in a bin - sick sister my butt. Whilst we're at it, remove his leg brace to slow him down even more (assuming he's not dead) and use the metal as a lever to get the lock off the door. Life lesson: just because somehow someone looks weak, that's no reason to underestimate the damage they can do.
Throw something in to the kiosk to check for walkers. Are the characters really so stupid as to keep entering areas without the basic of checks? It seems so; remember when Clem and Jane used the car's horn to attract walkers before heading through the door to a building they had not checked was unlocked or free of the dead. I rated the group's IQ at around 75 points between them at this point.
Wrap Rebecca and the baby in the coat. Where did the coat go? It just vanished? Who stole it? Did the developers just forget about it? So lazy! Whilst we're at it, why did the writers feel Clem should forced to get closer to Rebecca? She's a liability that all my choices until this episode re-enforced. Suddenly, I can't get do anything but cosy up to the lamest duck of the group. (Jane, let's get the hell out of here!)
Stab Rebecca in the temple with the screwdriver. This means no gunfire to make the situation worse than it already had become. Clem had been a knee-breaking, screwdriver wielding, Chuck Norrising weapon all episode when one-on-one with walkers, but now that using the gun will obviously cause mayhem she becomes Annie Oakley.
I feel robbed of what should have been a chance to enhance the group's backgrounds and characters - instead they all, including Clem, became marionettes playing roles that were out of character with previous episodes. Sarah being in shock was reasonable, but she was actually too responsive for someone in such a state; it felt more like she was sulking rather than in shock. Did Damon "Look at me, I'm so Deep" Lindelof ghost write this episode? It certainly felt like it.
Let's hope episode 5 makes playing episode 4 worth the pain. Maybe Clem will wake up in a shower and E4 will never have happened.
