Season 1 deleted save file HELP

In anticipation of S2 Ep4 I decided to go back and start another playthrough of Season 1. But instead of creating another save file, I deleted the main save file. So I'd just like to know if its possible to continue playing S2 without the S1 file. Has it been saved into S2? Because if that was the case, then it shouldn't matter. Thanks.
