What if Nick and Luke's roles were switched?

Now hear me out before you just ignore this, or click dislike and go away. What if their roles reversed? Here's a scenario that I hope would make sense:
Nick and Clem are both out on the porch/front deck (whatever it is). Nick says "What's going on?" Clem responds "You have to tell him." "Tell him what?" "What happened on the bridge."
Now, when Walter turns around, and he says "Just tell me what you did. Just tell me, son. Tell me what happened", before Nick can respond, Luke comes through the doors and says "What's going on?", and he decides to cover up the story and say it wasn't them. Either that, or you can quickly order Luke to tell the truth. Walter throws the knife away and the dinner bell scene starts to proceed.
Everything goes the same, except Nick volunteers to go with Kenny, maybe to smooth some things out about their argument at the dinner table, and to prove he's useful. Luke scans the trees with Carlos and the same scene with Clem shooting the walkers and Carlos saving her proceeds.
But this time around, it's different. Luke isn't with Kenny. He's holding back a walker that is trying to eat his throat out. If he reaches for his machete that he dropped, the walker will break through his grasp and chew him up, so he's stuck. Walter runs out with his gun, and his you said to tell the truth or not, Luke either dies or is saved.
Now, during the last scene, if Luke is dead, then Carver still says "Where's Luke? Finally cut and run, huh? Why am I not sur--" He gets cut off here as Clem says "He's dead." Carver looks surprised for a split second, and then frowns. Then he says "Well then where's....where's Nick? Where'd that fuckin' idiot go? Huh?"
Luke's role would be limited, but not as much as Nick's determinant status was. He'd have many more lines and a small impact in Episode 3 (change of plot). Sadly Episode 4's is hard to change.
I feel this would show a lot more deserved character development for Nick. It would show he cares for this new family of his and that he's do anything for them. Also I get the feeling that there are a lot of Nick lovers and Luke haters nowadays and that trying to make a decision between Nick or Kenny would be harder, seeing as we all love our Nick.
DISCLAIMER: Nick would not have sex with Jane. He would be caught flirting instead (I feel Nick isn't that much of an idiot to full-out fuck in a scenario like that).
So...what do you think? Thoughts? Questions? Ask away.

bumpy...?
I don't believe no one wants to talk about this.
Nick would probably be forgiven.
That would be interesting, but I feel like they still have something to do with Luke, hence why he's still alive.Or maybe he's not, we are in a gun fight.
I think they were meant to be the one person at one point cause of this picture, this man has some traits from both characters
the page doesn't show anything for me :?
Actually, they were supposed to have swapped haircuts as seen here: http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/File:Early_Concept_of_Luke_and_Nick_(Telltale_Official).png
I'm a bit confused...forgiven for what?
