Well it's going to most likely die next episode. These shouldn't really be alive in the apocalypse unless humans have already created a safe… more haven that can hold. It will just pose as a distraction and draw walkers towards the group.
Best course of action will be to leave it for the walkers to get out of a situation in order to survive.

It won't be alive to save anybody unless it's raised in a safe environment. If the group will continue to be going like they currently are, the only thing it's useful for is drawing attention.

I am fine with the baby - well, other than it might be Carver's - but the baby can't help that ( that pic above - scary - loll)! To me - anyone alive gets a chance and assistance if possible - especially kids. OK - maybe not the bad guys!
This subject did make me have some odd thoughts though about a baby walker (crawler?) and I realized I do not ever recall seeing a child walker in the game - I could be wrong because I generally do not like to look at them anyway and I admit it would be pretty disturbing to see children walkers but it seems pretty obvious that there would be.

Ever since we've had control of Clementine I've done my best to keep her as my number one priority and at the same time help any that I can. But looking after a baby? That's not an easy thing to do—apocalypse or not. Things just got ten times more complicated and, like always, it's going to fall to Clem to save the day while dealing with a bunch of consequences.
I'll protect it like I protected Clem with Lee just because it's baggage and drains food doesn't mean you leave a baby to die that was not the Clem I developed in season 1. I'll never leave a baby to die in TWD it seems wrong to me.
Well.. the whole not having water thing was bullshit considering that there was a huge river nearby their campsite in episode 4. But yeah.. I think if people were hungry enough they'd eat/drink things like baby formula, pet food, etc. I highly doubt there'd be anything left for actual babies.

don't forget that as the mother's health wanes, so does her supply of breastmilk. in a zombie apocalypse a place like carver's was perhaps her only hope. overall her wanting to leave carver's group so early (after a couple of years the baby will be able to eat scavenged food) shows that she was an unfit mother. of course everyone else should want to ditch that madman before he decided to kill them off for whatever reason (though wanting to stay healthy and safe from walkers might convince you otherwise).
as for baby formula, if it is powdered formula it would be fine (though not ideal). always prepare powdered formula with boiling water, and be picky about the cleanliness of the water (water purification tablets are probably a bad idea with expired powder which has less of what a baby needs anyway).
without modern medical facilities the survivability of babies drops rapidly, without good nourishment the survivability of a baby drops rapidly. had she stayed with carver and everything turned out fine with him there would be a sizable chance the baby wouldn't make it. out in the wild the odds are less than half. without a wetnurse/mother it would be a miracle for the baby to live. without formula and decent water not a snowball's chance in hell. out in the snow on it's first day without really warm blankets even less. i could keep going, but ya, the baby is dead unless the russians or someone else swoops in and saves the day with everything that is needed (within minutes from end of episode mind you).
Yeah I have to agree here. Realistically with the mother gone, the baby is as good as dead, so it doesn't matter if you want to try and care… more for him or not. After two years, there's probably slim to no chance of finding baby formula of any kind that isn't already expired. The only hope for him is to find another mother he can feed from, but there's no body around like that...
I'll protect it like I protected Clem with Lee just because it's baggage and drains food doesn't mean you leave a baby to die that was not the Clem I developed in season 1. I'll never leave a baby to die in TWD it seems wrong to me.
Oh, I didn't mean that you were wrong. I meant that the TTG writers made a mistake regarding that issue.
Maybe Russian Harry Potter made the formula appear into existence
i like babies too, but given the situation the baby is most likely dead already. there was low odds to begin with, but trying to keep it alive i think would be worth a shot. having clem raise it would be silly though. would be nice if arvo's sister had a miscarriage and kenny and co decide to stay with the russians in the town to raise the baby, but clem gets exiled for the previous encounter. so at the end instead of everyone dying you end up alone without a massive die off. you could choose the comfort people and help convince them to stay, or be selfish and throw a stink about it (in the end you are going to end up alone anyway, you know it is going to happen).
Ugh, I know. IRL I love babies and it kills me that I want to leave this baby behind. I really, really hope it's not our endgame though. Not… more only is it an overused trope (babies are the salvation in the post-apocalyptic world etc etc) but I don't want Clem to take care of a baby. Are you kidding me she's 11. That shouldn't even be an option.
I wouldn't choose to abandon the infant or anything, but from a narrative perspective, I would sooner have had Rebecca live then lose her for her nameless child.
Assuming she isn't dead. What if we just find a bunch of corpses at Wellington? We could find all sorts of things there, and I doubt Telltale will be going for something obvious or idealistic.
Bumping this. Feel like this should still be discussed, and it's better to keep this thread going than it is to clutter the forum with new ones with the same topic.
actually a baby could be used as a good way to test if an area is suitable for a group to thrive in. If the remains of the group find a place to settle down at and are able to take care of a baby then that would be a good indicator that they have found a good spot to camp out in.
The poll didn't really have an appropriate answer for me. I do care for the baby HOWEVER I don't want it to become the main storyline. If I have to choose to save the baby over someone else, I would likely choose that someone else just because I feel that is a cheap move by Telltale. I can guarantee you that Telltale won't show any gore towards the baby so if it doesn't make it, it would have to be a peaceful way to go. I think the best possible thing for the storyline and baby is that at the end of Episode 5 its current caretaker (hopefully not Clem) takes it and leaves for his/her own. I REALLY don't want the baby to be a huge part of the storyline trying to imitate the Lee/Clem bond.
For instance, I think Carver's plot doesn't even make any sense.
I mean, what the fuck? How could he expect to run a safe place the way he was doing? Eventually someone would shoot his head / run away/ rebell.

That baby's gonna be more of a liability than Sarah was, and I didn't care enough to babysit even her. I hated Judith in the TV show and I c… morean instantly tell I'm gonna dislike this baby too. I hope the story doesn't railroad us into caring for it, but I suspect it will.
I don't see how the baby can be any worst then lugging around worthless Sarah.... who pretty much shit herself in every situation... just like a baby, except a baby you can put on your back and just take it for the ride...
I think the baby is going to serve as more of a device for Kenny's character development. I don't know how exactly Telltale can conceivably write the baby's relevance any other way, to be honest. Unless Christa resurfaces and gets her happy ending by becoming the baby's new carer.
For me babies are annoying in general. But that's just me. I seem to lack whatever built-in compassion the evolution gave to humans so that … morethey automatically adore all babies. But in the apocalypse? Do you even need to ask? It's a leech on the resources, makes constant noise to attract the walkers and requires constant care and attention for at least several years upon which it may or may not grow into something useful. Hell, is there a POSITIVE side to a baby in a zombie apocalypse scenario?

That baby actually is hope. Also why use Lee's viewpoint of protecting Clementine? You are Clementine now in the story and I doubt any Clem would act like that. Must Clem be all "Clem must come first and screw the others?"

Yeah. And from a personal perspective, I've never really been one for children in real life, ESPECIALLY not babies. The thought of raising a baby sounds horrible and time consuming, even without the zombie apocalypse.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Rigtail, the baby will save you in season 5!
Think of how convenient that baby will be when you're surrounded and you need a distraction. That baby is basically a smoke pellet.
Baby's state is probably going to be unknown.
I'm positive.

It's a joke
Because people apparently are too immature to care about the future of the human race. It's only themselves they care about.

The baby makes me nervous, I won't lie.

They barely have any food or water yet they managed to find baby formula.
It looks like Alvin!

I was just pointing out how weird it was that they just happened to have baby formula all of a sudden. Like, when? How?
Oh, I didn't mean that you were wrong. I meant that the TTG writers made a mistake regarding that issue.

Same here. I think it would be damn cruel to leave a baby behind.
He just really likes baby formula.

Christa'll take care of it, don't worry.
Some of these ideas of using the baby as lurker bait are disturbing.
Sorry clementine but the baby should be your number 1 priority now.

Judith shoulda died.
We are all babies of Mother Russia after all!

Are you fucking kidding me?
Babies will become the most likely survivors of the ZA
Lol you must be Team Crawford.
Down with Babies and seniors!

It needs to imitate? Why not be different. Or are all bonds imitating others? Other people's Clems seem very freaky
You protected Clem in S1 and play as her in S2. She is one of those child things you speak of
I know right? Leave a baby by the side of the road. Good thing Clem's not an infant.
