Is Molly still alive?
A lot of fans speculated Jane was actually Molly, but now that it's confirmed its not. We can clearly see that Jane is very similar to Molly.
- Molly had a climbing axe and did parkour. It's implied Jane has some skill of parkour, since she managed to jump roof to roof.
- They both also cared deeply about both their younger sisters, yet failed to protect them both making them feel immense guilt and pain.
- Both are skilled with taking down walkers.
- Both of them have their morality affected by Clementine. It's implied Jane would shoot Arvo, however stopped because she was in Clementines prescence. Molly was going to leave Lee and Kenny, but then saw Clementine and decided to help them.
- Both are loners, who prefer to stick alone rather than stick with the group.
That's just to name a few from the top of my head. However Jane seems to be much darker than what we saw from Molly in Season One. Since Jane is alive, and since she had a sister, we can presume her morals were clearly not always like this.
So that begs the question, is Molly still alive?
Jane seems to reflect Molly, as does Molly seem to reflect Jane. However they do it in different ways. Molly is only starting to develop this dark morality Jane seems to have, as she's ready to up and leave Kenny and Lee to face oncoming walkers. However she decides against it when seeing Clementine. She also doesn't seem to show any remorse for other characters, other than Clementine. She may like Lee but that somewhat depends on how he treats her.
With Jane she says she likes the group, however can tell its falling apart. She does seem saddened but only mainly due to her past experience with Jaime and due to Clementine being there, and reminding her of Jaime. Before she seemed quite ruthless, to the point where she didn't react to Kenny beating Carver to death and shooting Troy without feeling affected by it at all. She also remains calm when the group are walking through the horde. So this shows she's tough much like Molly.
But if Jane is alive, and Molly reflects what Jane could have been like. Does that mean Molly is still alive, but Jane is now reflecting what Molly is like if we met her now?
Hmm...it's interesting, and I'm always open for Molly to return (Since she never actually "dies" no matter what happens).
