is Arvo redeemable?
I decided to not robbed Arvo and I keep a nice conversation with him (not raising my voice or threaten him) and I chose "Don't do it" option when Jane wanted to shoot Arvo. So, towards the ending scene, in my gameplay, Arvo seems a little guilty to threaten Clementine and he said "You are sweet, Clementine...but I can't trust the others". So, I'm guessing Arvo will have a soft spot for Clementine in the next episode and could probably only following the orders of his gang when he threatened Clem's group.

Only time will tell, I guess.
A few interesting things to note is when he approaches you at the end, and you ask him, "What do you want," he replies with, "Uh...Bandages! I-I need bandages," to which Bonnie asks, "Are..you hurt?" He looks down, appearing extremely guilty when he says, "No." The rest of the Russians show themselves at that moment. That's why I don't believe he has a sick sister like he told us earlier, as it seems like he's a) used to lying on the spot, or b) is forced to lie often by his group.
He looks pretty annoyed when the other Russians start laughing at the fact he got robbed by a little girl. It wouldn't be surprising if they treat him slightly inferior—maybe because of his leg. He's obviously the only one who knows english; which could be why (and maybe the only reason) they keep him around.
What I really want to know is why he was hiding that medicine. Did he actually steal it from his own group? Is he now going to use Clementine as his scapegoat? Or maybe there could be a sister on the side and he was trying to get the medicine to her.
Either way, Arvo doesn't seem to be a horrible person. He shows a lot of remorse. If you robbed him and say to him, "I'm sorry about before," he hesitates briefly, and sounds really troubled when he replies, "Yes." It felt like a 'please don't apologize to me when I'm about to do something a lot worse.' He tries to end things calmly and without anyone getting shot, too.
I hate him. If only Jane would have pulled the trigger this problem would have been solved.
If no one from our group dies in that shootout then I might forgive him but that doesn't seem very likely.
I'm not sure if he's forgiveable or not, but I do like his character and I do want to see more of him. I think it's just his mannerisms and speech and such, he has a pretty good voice actor. :0
No, he's probably one of my most hated characters in this game, why? Because he's a spineless coward.
I really believe in situations like this cowards piss me off WAY more than bandits do. Although he may feel bad for what he's doing, does he care? Hell no, the only difference between him and the other bandits is that he knows that he's wrong, but does it to save his ass anyway, whereas the Russians think they are right. (Which depends on perspective)
I think so...consider Bonnie. This is the EXACT same scenario. Arvo didn't intend for anyone to die, but it appears people will. Same with Bonnie. She thought she could control it, like Arvo. And I've forgiven Bonnie, because she didn't intend for anyone to die, even if it IS her fault.
If Bonnie or Mike DIES because of this.
NO.
NOT AT ALL.
I'll forgive him if he shows he's sorry. No use holding grudges, and I'm pretty sure that group is probably making him do stuff for them since they don't know English.
Please refer to my avatar, that's the answer.
If you translate the russian it seems like Arvo doesn't want to rob them but rather he is being forced to, also i believe the woman said they should back down cause there is to many of them
Arvo is Ben. He will perish horribly.
I seriously like Arvo. This is the first character they've introduce in a long time that I really want to see more of. He's scared yeah but he probably was in a similar situation to Sarah, except unlike her he has the potential to grow. I hope he survives and if there's a season 3 I hope he's there with Clem. I'm shipping those two already~ XD
Only because he's afraid that he himself will be offed too.
He is a horrible person if he's helping scumbags
meh i dont care about bonnie
Unless he does something seriously heroic in ep 5, I am killing him at the first opportunity. I didn't steal from him, but I wish I had.
YES! I got them impression that he's being forced to do what he did, and i felt like shit when he was telling Clementine and Jane that they werent nice people. maybe he got into trouble for coming back to the group without the medicine and/or gun.
Although I did giggle because they made fun of him for being robbed by a little girl.
People said this kind of stuff about Bonnie after Episode 2 and now everyone is ok with her. So wait and see.
That's a pretty black and white attitude. We don't know the whole situation yet and things are bound to be more complicated; whether he's being forced, or there's a reason he has to stick with them. Plus, not to long ago Bonnie and Mike were with Carver—are they horrible people too? No.
Probably not, Kenny is not the person to threaten, especially now, after Kenny goes Gorked he will probably take him to Carvertown.
I don't think so look at the trailer park there should have bin guns on the ground plus food and medal supplys but all there was three 9mm sluges and a nail file arvo and his goons might have killed them and robbed them
Nope, I hate him, worse than most people hate Troy, and maybe Carver. Not quite St. John level, but close.
There was way too much medicine in the bag for me to buy the sister story. I'm pretty sure it was drug trafficking of some kind. This is kind of far out, but maybe there's a drug pipeline running from Wellington down into the South or vice versa.
As for Arvo, I don't really think he's irredeemable. It's a tough world, you can't hold some guy at gunpoint and expect absolutely nothing to happen.
I felt absolutely awful when I took the medicine but I could only think about healing the group, which I was surprised that I only had the option to give medicine to Rebecca. Jane mentioned Kenny and Luke needing medicine but did they get any? Doubt it.
I had a suspicion that he didn't have a sick sister. I guess I was right. I just hope that he forgives Clementine and that this mess gets sorted out.
YOU. MONSTER.
I'm pretty sure you've replied to all Arvo threads with a variation of "Look at my avatar to see the answer.".
I'm not quite sure. I don't hate Arvo, but I don't like him. I didn't steal, because I knew it would cause problems, but either way he says you steal so... Anyway, he does seem to look somewhat guilty about it all, like he didn't want to actually do it, but still he's the one who brought the others to your group, and if you didn't steal, told them you stole anyway.
I don't know if he's redeemable after what happened, and honestly, if we're talking about the group in the game, Luke, Kenny, Mike, Bonnie, and Clementine, I'm pretty sure most of them would not forgive him, especially if one of the characters die in the shoot out the end (Which is highly likely.)
I just wish Jane didn't steal from him even when I said that I didn't want to. And she not only chase him away after that without his weapon and supplies, she also threatens him RIGHT before leaving the group.
Have nothing against Arvo, no. Even if people dies, he's not the one who provoked this messed up situation.
It's kind of fun to do it.
I wanted Jane to kill him when she threatens him after stealing his supplies, I had my clementine say nothing, there was no "shoot him." Option, because i knew deep down letting this guy go after robbing him was a mistake.
You're right, but overall, I think it's too early to say. Right now, I just don't like him. It depends on what happens in EP 5.
Holy crap. Good point. That is actually a perfect way to put it. Genius! They both have people at gunpoint, most likely out of their own control in both situations, and people died. Yet, Bonnie was forgiven. Unless Arvo becomes a Bonnie and says he was forced to, than I am killing him on the spot, the bastard.
I personally can't really compare with Bonnie, i always felt like Bonnie had NO choice on to tell carver that she met the group, Bonnie received a whole box of supplies, when she returned to camp carver probably suspected that it could be the group he was chasing after. Carver doesn't seem like the kind of person to not ask where she randomly got a box of supplies from.
And neither do I.
There's no indication that Arvo doesn't want to rob them. Rather, when the situation escalated, Arvo realizes that it will end badly and he begs Burich to back down because he (Arvo) doesn't want to die. His motivation to not steal from them is spurred by his urge to survive and not because of some guilt he might be harboring.
Edit: Also, the person who keeps repeating "There are too many of them" is Vitali and not Maud (the woman). Maud seems pretty ambivalent with the situation.
I don't know what is up with people and "drug trafficking" since I doubt there is anyone out there with the luxury to continue shooting up, sniffing, smoking, whatever poison is their fancy. What drugs are useful for though is medicine and I imagine things like antibiotics and other pills fetch quite the high price for desperate people. A couple of pills could probably get the group a full meal depending on how desperate the other group is for medicine. It'd be a pretty good strategy for survival.
Jane doesn't steal his medicine. Clem has the option of whether to do that or not. She does take away his gun but after he pulled the stunt of aiming it at Clem could you blame her for being reluctant to give a weapon back to him which he could use against them? At least there is one less gun (on the russian side) at the shootout at the end of the episode because of this.
It's Michael Ark, who is from Moscow. An actual Russian doing a Russian character OMG!
What is supposed to do? His leg is fucked up. He can't run anywhere by himself. His best chances are with the Russian Mafia there.
I bet Arvo and I would be bros IRL
