Questions about Jane and the group at the end of Ep 4?
spoilers
First off I wanted to hear some opinions on why you think Jane decided to leave the group..? Was it because she didn't or couldn't save Sarah..or was it because she really wanted to survive on her own..it seemed like she kinda was on Clementine side about staying...
Also when Jane leaves and tells Clem did anybody choose the option of leaving with her..? I know it probably doesn't change the out come of what happens in the end of season 4 but I was just curious on her response..

I think it's because of Sarah's determinant deaths. Either her convincing Clem to leave her behind at the motel or Clem convincing Jane to save Sarah at the observation deck.
I think that Jane knows the truth that sooner or later everyone will die and she just don't want attach to anybody and experience the death of someone close again like it was with her sister. In my opinion this is the main reason why Jane wants to survive on her own.
Right on point!
I think she believes that the group will slow her down. That's her mentality, and it was already proven when Sarah refused to come at the trailer park, and then again because of Rebecca being pregnant. She is right though, all these characters will slow down survivors like her.
Because Luke was bad in bed.
Jane: lol no fucks luke
Not wanting to be attached to anyone, but romantically involves Luke in her life for a brief moment? She won't forget that. She'll cherish it and probably miss it.
Who said anything about romance here? It was a quickie. Something to help her unwind after bad day. One step above rubbin' one out.
ugh, okaay, lemme explain.
For Jane to ask Luke for sex, she had sexual feelings for him. Or, she might've thought she had. Even though it was a quickie, you saw how much Luke was talking about "how human" it made him feel. We don't know what she said prior, but she was the to ask. There was obviously a build up towards her doing that.
Or maybe she's pregnant.
"Heh, sorry. Bad Joke."
I think that the nail file is going to be needed in episode 5, so she'll probably return. Hopefully.
You know... sex doesn't need to be result of someones feelings such as love.
Yes, I know that, but I don't think Jane is that cold.
sexual feelings =/= emotional attachment
Luke may have emotionally invested himself in Jane, but she didn't return the favor. She doesn't even bring him up when she leaves. I don't think there needed to have been much build-up for Jane other than her thinking "Wow, today really sucked. I need to get laid."
Wanna bet? During episode 4 I had feelings that she could leave anyone in that group if she has to (and she did left them) so why not have this with Luke just for fun?
"What about Luke?"
"What about him?"
"Aren't you guys..."
"No, Clementine. It's not like that, it can't ever be like that."
Which brings me back to what I said.
My point is that she doesn't bring up Luke. Clem does. And even then, Jane's response is "What about him?" She didn't even so much as think about him when she left. She knew exactly what she wanted from him. Distraction. Nothing more.
Yes she's pregnant.. Luke didn't pull out..
Telltales are Repeating Things, Like Molly Left the Group
Hey, man, the -̶d̶i̶c̶k̶ heart wants what it wants.
i think Jane left the group because of the guilt of Sarahs death, and not wanting to soften from her cold icy loner exterior into someone who once thought with human feelings like she did for her sister.
Jane left because she is right. Where did staying with the group get Clementine? Oh just in the middle of a Russian gang about to murder you
She seemed to have no problems seducing Troy and then putting a bullet in him and leaving him as walker bait. Bottom line, she has no problems using someone to get what she wants.
And who exactly do we have to thank for that?
She didn't want to stick around because of the baby. She wasn't in the group that long. I'm sure she didn't want any of them to die but having a baby scream near a horde of zombies is going to cause problems she just didn't want to be apart of. She stayed to make sure they were alright through the birth and then bailed when she saw everything was going to be as fine as it would be for them after it was born. The rest she just didn't want to see pan out as I'm pretty sure she just doesn't want to go through any kind of emotional trauma if they would end up having to kill the baby in order to survive. I mean who the heck wants to be apart of that?
Your beard.
I prefer the theory that after robbing (or nearly robbing) Arvo Jane has a huge breakdown of conscience to the point where she realizes she's not completely numb to attachments. Is she feeling for this group particularly Clementine? Is she afraid of feeling? I think she offers the deed to Luke to see if she feels anything anymore or simply to forget her crisis of emotion-- but by the end of it she realized it didn't work and she needs to leave this group before she becomes attached and suffers more. She doesn't want to suffer like when she lost her sister ever again.
Wrote this in another thread, so thought I'd echo it here.
Stop
Dicks have brains too ok?
She must be pretty cold. I mean she left him, just because they had sex doesn't mean she becomes emotionally attached o him.
Take it out before it rains!
I want to add, paradoxically, she also stuck around BECAUSE Rebecca was having a baby, I think. Rebecca didn't have the baby yet, but she might have wanted to stick around until Rebecca birthed the baby. After that...well, Jane was never going to take care of the baby long-term.
I think this is true, but the way she talks about her life before, she's never that social to begin with. Not asocial or antisocial, just not quite social. I bet she always preferred to live a more independent life.
Too bad he was shooting blanks, ha ha ha.
What happens if you choose to say "Can I go with you?" to Jane when she's about to leave?
Basically "Nope, you can't do that."
I thought this season was going to be more story branching then the last.
They better not do this to 3rd Season
