Do Fables have to buy new glamours every time they transform?

edited July 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

When glamoured non-human fables (Grendel, Holly, Jersey, etc.) turn into their true form, is the glamour a one-time thing where do they have buy more every time or is it like Bigby's lycanthrophy where they can transform at will? Seems kind of impractical if they have to buy more each time.

Probably. I don't think any of those can transform back into a human form when they want.

  • It's never really stated how glamours work in the comics, but I do have two theories as to how they last. They either last a period of time and you can switch back and forth until it wears off, or like the comment above me, once you change forms, you need to buy another glamour.

  • That would suck if EACH time you turned back to your 'original' look, that you would need to buy a new Glamour. Hopefully like EMMYPES said, they last a period of time. Another question is this-do they CHOOSE how they look?? I'm looking at you, Jersey!

  • I think they do. Lily at least seems to have two different glamoured forms, since in photo in Episode 3 she looks completely different from her in the photo in Episode 5. The witches may have a wide range of looks to choose from.

  • I believe they can switch at will as in the comics Bluebeard's Goblin Butler only switches his glamour on when he leaves the woodland building. He does this as he is walking by the front desk without a witch or wizard in sight.
They seem to only work for a certain amount of time before they wear off which is why glamours are so expensive; there's not enough witches and wizards in fabletown to keep up with demand so they upped the prices to keep the number of fables that can afford them down.
