Luke should sing to...
If you don't know it already, Scott Porter, the man who voices Luke, is actually a really good singer and has sung in some other roles that he's starred in. Here's a clip from the TV show Hart of Dixie, where Scott playing as George, sings with that same accent as Luke's, to a dog.

Now that there's a baby in the group, well, that little infant going to need taking care of. Baby's also cry a lot too, so as long as Luke isn't near death or anything from that shootout, then I think he should sing to the baby! =D
I don't mean literally break into song and have a music number, but say if it was Luke singing a lullaby, or humming it, I think it would be a really sweet thing. Remember, Luke was friends with Rebecca, so I doubt he'd give the poor baby the cold shoulder and ignore it even if it is Carver's son. But really, can't you just imagine it? The baby won't stop crying and Luke sings/hums a lullaby that helps the little guy fall asleep, and Luke gets all proud of himself, saying "Hey, this parent business ain't all that difficult as they make it out to be!"
...
And then you just catch sight of Kenny staring at Luke from across the way, all like:
But really, what do you guys think? Is the idea of a singing Luke a good one or a silly one? Or do you think somebody else should do it? Should little Clementine or Kenny sing to the baby?
Comments
Hahaha I like it.. especially the part where Kenny gets jealous. But with so much shit going down next episode i would be suprised if we got a scene like this.
I hope there's a "Shut up Luke!" option if he starts singing.
Kenny: Luke, so can I hold the baby now?
Luke: Wait your turn baby sniffer
Kenny: Luke...Put the fucking baby down and walk away before i bash your fucking skull in.. GIVE ME DA BABY!
Would be nice, although I wonder if Kenny might get really clingy with Duck Junior and not want to hand the baby over to Luke, if even just to hold him o_o
He should sing darude storm.
Just kidding, just kidding.
he should sing to a song about sex.
Geez, way to be a killjoy.
Then Beth from the show comes out of nowhere and they start singing a duet.
baby starts crying really bad
Kenny: tries to comfort baby Hey, it's okay. Shhh. What's wrong? It's okay, little guy.
Luke: Why doesn't he stop? Maybe... Maybe he's hungry?
Kenny: We all are, Luke. Just give me a damn second! sways baby Shhh. Be quiet, it's okay.
Clem: The noise gonna draw walkers!
Kenny: I know, I know. We need to... Just...
Luke: Maybe we can sing him a song?
Kenny: A song? Are you nuts, kid?
Luke: I'm just trying to...
Clem: Do it!
Kenny: What?
Clem: Luke, please! We need to calm him down!
Luke: Oh. Okay. I.... slowly begins to sing
baby stops crying
Kenny: suprised Good one, Vanilla Ice.
Actually there's a song out there Scott sung in some show where the lyrics go 'pour sugar on me' but with that same Luke accent again [I think it's a southern accent right? I just call it the Luke accent XD.
I got the link of it on tumblr! XD
http://lilacsbloom.tumblr.com/post/90669775328/bronfelix-some-more-luke-singing-he-needs-to
Yeah he'd sing something like that missing Jane for sure XD
D'awww omg that would be so adorable! I think if Luke did that I would just start grinning and not be able to stop!![:) :)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
And I totally loved when Scott Porter did his falsetto voice at 0:46 hahaha!
I think it would be really cute if: Luke started singing to it, then Kenny gives him a small stink-eye. But he sees how the baby enjoys Luke's singing, so instead of stealing it away, he joins in in harmony [both melodic and situational, ohhhhh!] Then Clem just looks between them and the baby and smiles like she hasn't in a good long while.![:) :)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Nah I disagree about there being no time for a sweet scene like this. This last episode had a whoollee lot of drama and sadness. One of the most memorable scenes was at the museum with Bonnie and Mike, and it was like a breath of fresh air with how light-hearted it was; also it was a favorite of a lot of people, myself included. It seems next episode will be super depressing, but there's bound to be some adorableness with the baby! There needs to be some sort of, if not straight comic-relief, then heart-warming scenes to keep our hearts from icing over lol.
I think it would be cute if he did!! It would bring a little light in the game!!
was it by Def leopard?
Wanna know something interesting? According to Gavin Hammon, Kenny's VA, he's also a musician.
I'm not sure if he was either vocalist or a drummer in his younger days, or both. It was in a tweet he answered a while ago, I'll find it if I can.
So Kenny singing to the baby could also be plausible. Maybe who sings to the baby could be determinant? lol
Edit: Here ya go, found it:
Better yet, both Kenny and Luke start singin' for the baby and Clem 'round a campfire in a cold winter night after a long, tiring day, putting their differences aside, and then they become pals forever. Woohoo, happy ending!
Yeah, wishful thinking xD ... at least...they could act friendly for a little while![:( :(](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/frowning.png)
Forget the troubles of the apocalypse for a bit, have a nice peaceful little moment for once. They all need a break!
Aw, that would be perfect!
Yessss that would be glorious!!![:D :D](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
I can see it now:
Luke and Kenny start singing to the baby
Kenny: So Clem, who's the better singer?
Ice cream vs. Pizza choice
All girls will be like Aww, guys will be like Shut the fuck up!!
Wasn't Jolene a character from Season 1?
I vote for Pizza and Ice Cream to start singing in harmony. Clem can play the guitar :P
It's near Christmas in the game isn't it? They should sing a Christmas song.
jane should sing to the baby lol
darude sandstorm
So, that's where she went! It all makes sense now...
Yeah a Christmas song! That would be fitting, as a lot of the traditional ones have themes of the three kings traveling and shepherds protecting their sheep (like the group protecting the baby) and the sweet baby Jesus are you fucking kidding me!![;) ;)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
I was trying to think of what song they'd sing. It'd have to be something like a lullaby, sweet but still sad reflecting their environment, not overzealous or corny but still hopeful for the baby's sake. A country or folk song would do, as I'd imagine Luke and Kenny might know those (not to stereotype though). Hrm...** goes searching for a song **
Okay, okay. Maybe some guys too. Happy??![:D :D](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
Yep![:) :)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
You have earned my like :P
Time to put a depressing image in your head.
Clem singing 'You Are My Sunshine' in a really sad voice...as the baby dies in her arms.
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are grey
You never know, dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away...
I'm a meanie, I know XD
Im so obsessed with that clip. Yes please. Let that happen, TTG.
Sure, I guess? I don't know why Kenny would be so mad at Luke for singing to the baby. It's not a contest. Luke is Kenny's new Ben, so as long as he's being useful or being thoughtful towards his new object of care, singing to a baby shouldn't make him mad.
But now the cover of "Will the Circle be Unbroken" from Bioshock Infinite comes to mind. Damn it's so beautiful. Let me just bring up a link to go with Lilacsbloom's attempt to make you all so very sad.
Nooo y u du dat? ** bawls ** Ah that would be so good. But haha I need a helmet and more bc you hit me
I counter your sad scene with a cute one! For some reason I see Luke singing, "Reindeers are better than people" from Frozen.
![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/xWlLrPax5-A/0.jpg)
Luke would hold the baby, singing to it and pretending it's singing back to him, taking the reindeer's lines:
Luke--Babies are better than people. Kid, don't you think that's true?
Luke pretending to be baby--Yeah, people will beat you and curse you and cheat you! Every one of them's bad, except you! [Kenny-- >:( ]
Luke--Aw, thanks buddy. But people smell better than babies. [Kenny-- >>:( ] Kid, don't you think I'm right?
Luke as baby-- That's once again true, for all except you!
Luke-- You got me, let's call it a night.
Luke as baby-- Good night!
Luke-- Don't let the frostbite biteeee!![:) :)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Kenny-- ......Babies do smell good. Hmph....But Luke, you do smell worse than them. ** crooked grin **
Though I doubt Luke would actually sing to the baby like it's a reindeer tho.![:p :p](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/tongue.png)
Clem: So he's a bit of a fixer upper.
This song is beautiful, and I think it would work well in this situation. I like how it still has a hopeful ring to it, even though it's sad.
I see where you're coming from about the baby. But I think Kenny just may become over-possessive of him; he's already started to a little by taking it from Rebecca. Kenny feels he's needed by the baby, so any diminishment of that need would probably not be good.
Ha yeah! Clem's such a troll. * ba dum, tsch *
Clem: His isolation is confirmation on his desperation for human hugs!
Us: Aww.![:) :)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Also, separate situation: it's Christmas and say they find a windfall of a secure house, a lot of food, and some booze too, so they take a well-deserved break and get tipsy to celebrate (Clem'll watch the baby, though the baby and she'll be enjoying the show.) Can you just imagine Kenny and Luke singing drinking songs together, especially ones with fun insults at each other, like from The Pogues' "Fairytale of New York"
~2:13. "You're a bum, you're a punk," "You're an old slut on junk, Lying there almost dead with a drip in that bed." "You scumbag, you maggot. You cheap lousy f*ggot, Happy Christmas your ass, I pray God it's our last." Apart from the last line, I think it fits well. Also, pretend Luke and Kenny aren't a couple like The Pogues singers and some parts of the song kinda work too.
Man it's hard to find a somber Christmas duet between two males.
Probably very wishful thinking for them to get along that well, but whatevs~
I like it because of the way it's written, question after question. "Will you join them in their bliss?" "Will the circle be unbroken?" "Is a better home awaiting?" Because as much as anybody would like to hope, in this new world, the answer likely to be most common in everyone's minds, whether they're honest or in denial, is "no". Anybody who's finished Bioshock Infinite could agree that this version adds in that subtlety as intended for the mood it was made for, and I think it fits here too, though applied differently. I won't be straightforward about how because spoilers.
Yes, lovely lyrics. I'm curious as to what you mean when you say this though:
Which "answer" are you referring to above? Apologies if none of this is new to you, but I'm just thinking out loud: The hymn has to do with loss, and it basically addresses the question between going to heaven to "join them in their bliss" for a "better home awaiting" or to stay on earth ("Or are songs of earth your choice?") I had to look it up, but apparently the "unbroken circle" refers to when friends and family sit in a circle around a campfire, and the passing of loved ones will break said circle (funny how Clem and the group sat in a campfire circle a couple times in 203, huh?). Eventually everyone will die (fact of life), though suicide ("Will you join them in their bliss?") could possibly bring the characters to getting there sooner. The phrase, "Will the circle be unbroken?" could refer to: will we eventually join the ones who've died and left us in heaven? I'm not Christian or that spiritual or anything, but I like to think the answer's yes. Maybe not right away, but when everyone's ready, hopefully there will be a reunion with our loved ones. Now, "Is a better home awaiting?" could mean something literally like, "Is there really something better out there?" or "Does Wellington really exist?" but I think the hymn's meaning is, "Does heaven exist?" and possibly, "Will we get there?"
...So, what did you mean?![;) ;)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
I haven't played any of the Bioshock games, but I agree it does fit well here. This is the exact kind of song I'd expect them to sing to the baby.
