The Walking Dead and Drives (attempt at quasi artistic conversation)

I'm going to this question with what are you doing in during the wait between E4 and E5?

Perhaps a psychoanalyitical question, but what drives you to the walking dead?

What is it about zombies that appeals to you. I ask because I love zombie stuff, and noticing lately I was really attracted to Corpse Party - slightly afraid to get chased on what looks to me like the SNES ghosts , I can't if for too long, I HATE BEING CHASED especially with shit controllers... But I need to know, is Sachiko going to get me 0_o

I'm looking for other horror games, espeically chose your own adventure... Yes, I've already heard of Song fo Saya, so....

Need zombie.............

I'm turned this into my need for zombies, but my ultimate question is why am I looking for new horror game instead of finally wrecking the Austrians (in Europa Universalis III)... What is the drive, what is the need? What is the appeal for apparently slaughtering my ancestors?

  • I love le brainz of le zombines, how le materiale goes an everywhere when vous squash le braine!

  • I think I’ve liked the ‘zombie survival’ setting since I played Resident Evil on the first playstation in the nineties which also fed an interest to get into zombie horror films later on. There’s something about post-apocalyptic settings in general for me, it’s not just zombies that really fascinate me but the ‘human condition’ in general.

As for other zombie horror of recent years I liked State of Decay and I’m looking to purchase Dead State when I get the ‘monies’ together. As for your fascination with killing your ancestors? I don’t know, my most recent playthrough of a Paradox game was me trying to unify all of the Slavic pagans through a Lithuania(iirc) playthrough, not the easiest thing to do.

  • Thats sort of what I'm getting at with "Corpse Party" - Same with the Metal Gear Series of Deus Ex, but I'm just so bad at skilled stealth games. Ryou is running around the halls and if he touches you one, he'lll kill you... i want the story but I want some character protection. Horror, scares, depression and fatality without survival horror gameplay mechanics. Which I why I like pure rpgs the best...Especially a horror themed rpg...

  • State of Decay is a bit more minimal in the narrative department but it might be what you're looking for. But for pure visual novel-esque point-and-click zombie stories all we really have right now is Telltale's Walking Dead. Never played Corpse Party though.
