Can we forgive Luke?
A lot of people are mad that Luke fucked up with Jane (myself included), but when I saw this video, my opinion on Luke changed a bit. Skip to 7:40 and you'll see that Luke is doing everything in his power to protect his group since he knows that he fucked up and when the lurkers were at the top, he didn't even run. Luke would rather die protecting the group than run away and before you refer to when Carver shows up. We don't know the context of his disappearance, but everything he does is to protect the group (even disappearing so he can track down Carver and break the group out) so Luke didn't "disappear" this time because he knew that would be the end of the group if he did. So what did he do? He stayed and fought until his last dying breath.

Also, Luke was only acting the way he was at the end because he was overprotective of Rebecca because she is the only original cabin member that he has left so that's why he was arguing with Kenny to keep her safe. Did you see how devastated he was when Rebecca was shot in the head? Now that she's gone, Clementine is the only person that Luke has left. Luke has done a lot for Clementine so can we just forgive him over this one fuck up? We're only human.
Comments
No.
Yep, said it for me,
Just read that Luke Defense Essay that some dude wrote on here. Completely forgave Luke already.
Okay. :c
Yeah, he just fucked up twice and neither were THAT bad.
Yeah, I've forgiven him as well as Kenny for their actions towards Clem and the group this episode. I thought about it and understood where both were coming from.
I've already forgiven him. It was a dumb thing to do, but I still love him.
Are you kidding me? Neither were THAT bad? He got everyone killed because of his fuck ups.
He is reckless. He just is. He is a good person but unlike Kenny he is not committed to what he does. I like him and forgive him and all but if i had a choice i would go with Mike rather than Luke.
When?
FuckLuke
LUKE RULES!
A pinky swear is forever!
KENNY SUX
LuckFuke
He messed up people forgave others for worse
Bonnie got walter killed, Kenny got shawn killed, Ben got kenny's entire family killed yet they were forgiving
I still like Luke, don't get me wrong, but he put himself on watch when he got back from the trailer park. He told everyone that they could trust him to look out for walkers, but instead he decided to screw with Jane. It was a pretty stupid thing to do, but in my eyes it makes him more human. He ain't perfect. I like him as a person slightly less, but he's become better as a character in my eyes.
You know that you don't have to be a Kenny hater if you like Luke.
Also, Clem and Luke never did the pinky swear.
How the fuck can we be mad at Luke for getting some pussy? I would have hit it too, good for him.
Yep, @zeke10 tells the truth
No shit Sherlock.
If you hadn't told me that I'd have to replay the entire season to confirm it.
I'm...getting there. As a Luke fan, I had a giant helping of disappointment on top of my anger toward him, so it's been taking me a minute to get through that and back to wanting him to be my bro again. Eh, I know the minute he gets injured or something, I'll completely forgive him and that'll be that.
Lol, um, non-canon deaths don't mean much. If they did, I wouldn't take away from this scene that Luke was brave. I'd take away that he was even dumber than I thought. Just standing there and stomping while a walker grabbed him. He could have stabbed it with his machete. Lol, I'm sorry. I know it's awful, but the whole scene was just really funny to me. (BTW, if we're looking at non-canon deaths as a testament to character, let's not forget when Clem died because Mike dropped her and no one even tried to catch her even though they were standing right underneath her. I don't take that to mean they're bad people...because it's non-canon. But, anyway, whatever.)
Yeaah.. he just banged Jane, what's the big deal I was just laughing what the fuck when I found out what he had done.
Everyone fucks up sometimes, only character that died in Episode 4 because of Luke was Sarah but she is determiant, they always die.
Wait, when did Luke f* up? Am I missing something here? I can't hold anything against him for his time w/ Jane. . .thats his business and didn't hurt anyone (high five Luke)
But seriously, I think he was wrong at the end and in most circumstances I found myself agreeing with Kenny for this episode, but he never messed up. Still cares whole heartedly about the group and I still trust him fully. Don't be idiots guys.
After taking a few days to cool off, and replaying the game a few times, I kind of do forgive him a bit, since even though I understood why he did what he did originally, I was pissed he put the group in danger regardless. But when replaying it a couple of times, I saw what you mean, that he really did regret what he did, and tried his best to help his group and make up for it afterwards, plus he apologized and admitted he screwed up.
I am still kind of mad about his comment about Mike though, although it isn't as bad as others have made it out to be, it just made no sense in the story considering what happened in episode 3, and how we as players were presented with Mike. Like why should the group not trust Mike? But I attribute that more towards a bad judgement in writing. And him seeming to only yell at Sarah was also something that made me mad, since I relate to Sarah's anxiety, but again I feel it was just poorly presented, since I think what they were trying to do was create suspense while we were doing the puzzles, but it just came off the wrong way to some players. His underwhelming reaction about Nick is probably the thing I still have the most issue with, but with the way they wrote Nick's death... I doubt they cared enough to give Luke a good reaction, so I can't blame the guy for that.
I'm just not very attached his character anymore, since his mind was just all about Jane this episode, so playing as Clem... I don't feel as close to him, but now that Jane is gone, hopefully he can put his head back in the game, and maybe I can fully forgive him next episode.
I hope I get to guilt trip him for Sarah's death at the observation deck.
"You were supposed to be patrolling! We would have had time to prepare!"
A lot of us forgave Kenny for yelling at an 11 year old girl, myself included, and i'm not even sure why. But it's only fair that he gets forgiveness as well.
Big deal, I forgave him instantly.
I have a feeling Kenny will do that for you instead.
But seeing as how that death was determinant, I doubt they will even bother to mention it again.
Short answer: No.
Yeah we can forgive both Luke and Kenny for being assholes in episode 4! No need for hate!
Yeah we can forgive both Luke and Kenny for being assholes in episode 4! No need for hate!
Expected from a Kenny fanboy, who doesn´t even care to justify his hate.
I can forgive him. Yes, he did put the group in danger for selfish needs, but felt guilty, apologized for it and luckily nobody died(Sarah dying was just forced, she had no reason to be on the deck to begin with, and if you agree with Jane´s logic, it was for the best, she at least died without taking anybody else with her). Besides, part of it is Jane´s fault too, even though she knew about his responsability she started making the "offer", and Luke was reckless to accept it. It is one of his few fuck-ups but most of the time we see he is worried about the group and shown to be a good person, all of this just shows how he isn´t perfect too, like people were complaining about him at the start of this season.
Literally his whole character up to that point had consisted of selflessness and always thinking about what's best for the group. Luke makes one mistake—which he admits to and no doubt feels extremely guilty about—and people are ready to throw him to the walkers?
Jeez. There is not one human on this earth that hasn't fucked up at one point and I'm sure you wouldn't want people to define you by just your mistakes.
Yes; I can forgive Luke because he deserves to be forgiven.
I didn't justify my hate because I'm tired of repeating the same thing. I'm slightly annoyed that you look at me, judge me, and then sterotype me with the other Kenny fanboys who joke about him being Jesus and not respecting other people's opinions. But if you want me to justify my hate then fine, I will. Lets see how many downvotes I can get for stating my opinion, as always.
I can't forgive Luke because he's reckless. He should have thought about what he was doing, he should have turned Jane down. But he didn't. He thought it was a good idea to get his dick wet when he should have been checking the perimeter for walkers. Because of this, we were unprepared. Someone could have died and he would have indirectly caused it. On top of that, he knew fully well that Rebecca was due to go into labour since her waters had broken. By having sex with Jane, he could have ended up bringing another goddamn child into this unforgiving world. I don't care if he needed it. He should have done it anytime but then. How am I suppose to trust him with anything else ever again if there's a woman brought into the picture? How do I know he won't fuck up again in general some other time? What if he gets someone killed?
I can't just forgive and forget.
What Luke did was disgusting! Applaud to Clementine catching Luke red-handed.
Depends on who you ask, to me he didn't do nothing wrong, i mean Bonnie did a far worse thing but people managed to forgive her one episode later.
