What happened?

Guys remember TWD season one? Yes, of course you do. I was emotionally invested in that game! The characters "mattered" to me! Season 2? Forgettable. Heck, I had even forgot I played Episode 3 already, had to log into the game just to check. With Season One, I was on top of that because I was so into the story that I absolutely had to know what the next episode was bringing.

The only characters I care about are the ones left over from season one. So what's missing? Season One, the episodes lasted about 3-4 hours on average for me. So there was plenty of time to learn about the characters, their backstories, and to really get lost in the main story. I even cried while playing season ONE, when we lost someone to the zombies. When Lee died, that hurt!

Aside from Kenny and Clem, if any of these characters die... meh. I don't really care. This game is so rushed that it's hurt the storyline. The episodes last about 1.5 hours on average, you can extend it to 2 hours if you keep "changing" your choices... (which sadly have zero effect this round) I feel let down, I paid full price for both games, but I did feel jipped and cheated because the length of the game is a fraction of the length of Season One, and the quality of the story is not there.

Not sure what the devs were thinking, or why they cheaped out on us, but what I do know is that I don't like it. And I, like MANY other gamers who've posted their frustrating on the forums, feel cheated for buying this game. I feel like they've cheated me out of the experience, the story, and the characters. We don't play this game for the graphics, or the combat, we play this for the story, that's ALL you got. Realize this, so by rushing the story, the one thing this game has, you're ruining the entire thing.

IF there is a season 3, I might just take a pass. I'll check the forums and if they're still rushed, well there's plenty other games out there. If any of you devs do read this, could you please offer some clarification as to why the major rush and the cuts to the length of gameplay? I would be very keen on hearing you guys out. Thanks!

  • Can we just talk about something else? We all know that season 2 doesn't stand up aganist season 1. WE ALL KNOW IT. Season 3 might redeem the game... Or make it worse

  • If you care about the characters that were in season one that are in season two, isn't seeing them around and knowing what happens to them good enough for you? Clementine alone should be enough.

  • I beg to differ. Yes if I had to choose a Season over another I would choose Season 1 over Season 2, solely because of Lee and his character. Its hard to duplicate that relationship, but that is what made Season 1 so great. Personally, I love Season 2 just as much. Episode 4 was amazing and probably my favorite episode of TWD yet (I know BOLD statement but I'm sticking with it)

  • I feel your pain.

  • Ok I know im probably gonna get hate but we get it! You guys don't like this season can we move on and talk about something different.

  • I hope that they decide not to work on 3 or more projects at the same time again.

  • This is going to be rude but did you make this thread for people to give you likes????

  • I agree with you, but your choices didn't matter in season 1 either, so what are you complaining that they haven't mattered this season?

A huge problem with season 2 I feel like is a lack of character development and emotion.

The characters felt nothing when Sarah died, not even Clementine. I made her be best friends with her in my play through, and for there to not be any kind of emotional consequences after makes me feel like the writing was rushed. It also feels like the characters are only there to be killed off for shock value, and the development of their personalities is something that is overlooked. Unlike season 1, where you are able to evaluate the different characters and bond with them.

Telltale, PLEASE give us some hard emotion. Your games are great and you can do much better with your writing!
