Wellington - is it (or was) a real place or is it a lie?
Hello guys and girls. I wrote about it in other thread and I thought we could discuss about it while we're waiting on finale episode. If similiar thread appeared earlier then I'm sorry but I thought it'd be a good thing to talk about. Back to the point, yes - everyone is talking about Wellington. In game and on this forum. We all know that this place was mentioned a couple of times by Clementine, Kenny and other characters but here is a thing. How do we know if this place really exsist? Maybe it's just a lie to lead survivor into a trap? Or maybe this place really exsisted but it doesn't anymore? For example our group could arrive there, see the signs telling them that they're close but then realize that this place is destroyed for unknown reason?
What do you think about it?
P.S I know that city called Wellington really exsist but I'm talking about camp because characters in season 2 obviously talked about a possible camp set up there with a big community.

It's definitely real in my opinion, considering how Kenny and Christa seemed to know a lot about it. But yeah, like you said we can't discount the fact that it could be another trap or it could be another similar place to what Carver lead with an iron fist.

Maybe I'll replay both seasons after season 2 is finished.
My theory is that it's a real place and Lilly will be the leader of it. Doubt it would happen but it will certainly be interesting if it's true.
Wellington (Township), Michigan exists in RL which is where I assumed they are talking about. I don't think its going to be what they think it is though. Way too small...

They are way far away from it still. I doubt that they will make it unless there is a time skip.
It does exist. There's a township called Wellington, in Michigan. It's awfully small though, only about 307 people live there, so it won't be something like Alexandria or Hilltop. But I believe that this place is normal and we can get a half-happy end. I would like Season 3 to focus on life in a big community. It would be very cool!
The cake is a lie but Wellington does exist, I just don't think it will as great as everyone says.

Getting to Wellington is hard, it's on the north east of the lower peninsula. Before you get there, you have to go out of your way to avoid Metro Detroit in the lower Eastern half of Michigan, Move east when you hit Kalamazoo, and move west when you hit Lansing. Then head north East upward, through rural Michigan. Also, Alpena, one of the largest cities in the Northern Lower peninsula, is near Wellington, so if Wellington is real, Alpena could be the new Macon. I live in Michigan btw.

I feel the same way. It's just... first time I heard about this place Iwas like "Oh cool, great" but with time I start to think "but what if something is wrong with this place?". Maybe it is or maybe it isn't.
Yeah, it so far away from them right know. A few weeks at least before they'll arrive there.

Even if Wellington wasn't real at first, it probably is or was at some point. As Matthew points out before he's rudely interrupted by a gun shot to the neck, a lot of people have been heading that way. Even if there was nothing there when they arrived. Get a whole bunch of people together, who all want to be in and make a community, and there's a good chance one ended up being made at some point. The real question is, will Clem get there before or after it becomes a walker cesspool.

Or will Clementine even get there during season 2? I have a feeling that either they'll refuse to go there and choose diffrent direction or they'll arrive there in season 3 because at this point I don't know how she and her group could reach that place if it's far north.
