What we think about Season 2 so far

Hi,
I'm not sure, if there is another thread like this. I didn't find any so I created this one. Please feel free to merge the threads, if needed.

Here are some general comments from my point of view about this season:

Weak Characters:
Compared to Season 1 the characters this time just aren't interesting at all. Of course Clementine is great, but next to her I only like Jane, the old dude who died at the beginning and the black guy (sorry, forgot his name.). I don't care about anyone else and that includes Kenny. He already annoyed me in Season 1 and now he's just super bonkers. I'm not sure, if this is the case because the group is constantly changing or because the characters are all such giant babies. Maybe they're just badly written.

The writing is inconsistent:
If seems to me that the characters change their opinion/behaviour all the time. I often can't really relate to their actions. Maybe this is done to cause more "drama". Well, they are drama kings and queens alright. Also, I don't really see, where this season is going. There seems to be no goal. It's just about fleeing from one place to the other. You can't build up any relationships and there is no "reward".

It's even less of a game:
The episodes are less long, there are no riddles, decisions still have no consequence and even the quick time events are getting fewer and too easy. There is no innovation, in fact the player is allowed to do less and less. And I'm sorry to say this, but the story isn't that good either. What's up with that?

It's still not a bad game. I play the episodes and I get some satisfaction from doing so, but it's nothing compared to the first season.

My suggestions for season 3:

  • No child as playable character
  • Having the chance to build up relationships again. That means 2-3 characters that don't die or go away within 1 episode and aren't strange drama queens.
  • Longer episodes with some riddles and the chance to talk to people longer and in more detail. Not just click "Mhh, let me sleep" "I said, let me sleep" ...

[EDIT] I forgot to mention that it's extremely unbelievable that the hole group makes Clementine do everything. She has to help everyone, since they're all idiots and she is even asked to handle electronics. That's one reason why I mentioned to please change the main character to a grown up again in the next season.
