What I feel the third season may be like.
So far, the second season is the extremely dark Empire Strikes Back of the series. But I have a feeling that Telltale may let up on the despair in the third season. The themes of this season was coming of age and trust. But I feel that the new season will focus on something entirely different.
Finding a new home, dealing with it, building it, fortifying it.....and defending it. They will find new people along the way but can they really get the job done. I also believe that the season as a whole will feel different. It will feature more heartfelt and humorous moments like when Clem searched with Bonnie and Mike. I believe the walkers will still feature a huge role in the season but in a different way. And we may actually have a constant antagonist in the season FOR ONCE. Maybe one like Negan or The Governor but with his own twisted sense of morals and responsibility.
I have a feeling that this season will end with a bleak yet hopeful tone.
What do you guys think?

I hope Season 3 goes with the idea of building Wellington into a safe haven while beset by battles with enemy communities. Ideally it'd feature a teenaged Clem, Rebecca's toddler son, and Christa.
Yep if that baby survives at least.
I would very much appreciate a change of pace insofar as a "home" similar to the motor inn in Season 1, which might lead to episodes becoming more character-driven, as opposed to the more relentless "find a new group oh shit we're being chased this place looks nice oh no Carver kill Walter shit Reggie fall off roof beat Kenny beat Carver walker herd run baby bang bang bang" we've had in this season. Not that there's anything objectively wrong with the latter; I just think it would be nice for a change and would offer new situations and story arcs to those we've had so far.
If the writing is actually decent rather than pointlessly grim-dark, he will. The opening scene of Season 2 has Omid die not five minutes after discussing whether to call his baby Omid. Clementine and Christa lost hope afterwards, but the baby represents a step forward and a possible chance for Clem and Christa to be more than just a pair of living dead again.
Hope died, and was born again.
True, I wouldn't mind a slower pace, where you get to interact with all of the characters. That's something I sort of miss about the first season. The manner of actually walking to that guy because you're interested in what he has to say rather than it being part of the cutscene. They should do that.
OH! And we need more romance! And I'm not talking about that Cluke bullshit either.
My feeling is that the baby will survive and Clem finds Christa, but pretty much everybody else dies or gets lost and in the end the two argue whether to name him Omid or not. I don't think there will be a fundamental change in the tone of season 3. season 2 will end with a sort of grim happy ending. Clem is alive but the future is uncertain and we will get another Cliffhanger that will allow us two speculate until season 3 starts.
