Should Telltale take risks?

Does anyone else think that maybe in the next season of the walking dead, Telltale should send the characters to a location that was visited in the comics, or heck, maybe even meet Rick. They took some risks in the first episode visiting Hershel's farm and meeting Glenn (the best character) why isn't there more of that?

Should telltale take risks? Of course but in my opinion I rather not see anymore characters from the comics and the show! Locations? That's another story...

  • Same places in the comics, yeah why not. If they can pull it off well enough. Same characters in the comics? I wouldn't want that, I honestly think it's just better like this. I didn't like it in the S1 either.

  • 'Telltale staff have stated in that their current focus is on making shorter, more cinematic episodes roughly ninety minutes in length. With there being less interactivity than previous games.'

  • And in my opinion this hasn't paid off. Season 1 has so far been more memorable to me, with the length, characters, more discussion in hubs to get to know the characters better, and honestly a bit of puzzle sequences are nice. I don't want them to cross paths with the tv/comic characters really, or visit the same locations, but I DO want them to go back to episodes that were actually worth the wait time.

  • dw they will never crossover with tv show characters but comic characters on the other hand...

the day they crossover is the day i stop playing, there are hardly no risks introducing the tv show characters, infact it will gain more fans,

  • in real speak it means : Telltale with the success of TWD S1 has gained a reputation for greatness so will be making more money by taking on different franchises and will be putting less effort into what made them great.

I think Telltale's inclusion of Glenn and Hershel in Episode 1 was actually to mitigate risk. The Walking Dead was a very new and important venture for them and they thought they needed to tie in characters from the comics and show to make fans more interested in a brand new storyline in that universe. Now that they've already established their presence, having a crossover character might just seem tacky.

  • LOL but i don't think they need to,they have just created some of the best characters to date..the Cabin group ,each different personalities, just amazing.....so having a tv character would be pointless...the game characters are more intelligently written..apart from the russians ;)

  • so is ricks group it would make it a lot interesting and actually to me those characters were just ok to me I mean the only one I really like was Clementine the others were just ok to me not the best to me so it would make it real good to me if she joined up with Rick and his group that would make it the best

  • Actually there's a thread that's called why are TT making their games shorter and a staff member replies to someoneand they explain it. While I don't like it, it at least gives us an explanation for those who ask themselves that. Everyone go check it out and find the staff member explanation and maybe start your threads, threads not rants and bitching, and in a good way put what they can do for the last EP and next season

  • I disagree, but kudos for funny picture.

  • Having the characters interact with someone/something that's already established is the opposite of risk.

  • I think I know why everyone wants to meet the comic book characters. cough cough

  • I like having it all set in one universe with the stories of 3 different groups, or 2, considering the show and the comics clash.
