Presumably everyone else with Clementine playing the role of Mr. Pink and The Baby playing the role of The Diamonds from Reservoir Dogs.

I had wanted to make Clem a more ruthless survivor but it seems to me that by the end of Season 2 it's going to be.

"Oh look it's people... Oh look they're crazy. Oh look it's supplies...Oh look they're in the middle of Walkers" All with the most empty of emotions. I think this massacre might be the point that drains Clementines tank and leaves her as dead inside as The Walkers. So much so that if it in fact does and we get to Wellington i'm hoping there's an option for Clementine to just hand over the baby and keep going because "everything falls apart eventually". Maybe it's just me but that's how i feel it's going. How about you?

Also Clementine for Go Fish night at the Inventory 2015!

  • The achievements in Episode 5 are all named after poems about misery, death and hollowness. There was a thread some weeks back that did an analysis of them.

So she's going to feel pretty broken. From depressed to even more depressed - not the most compelling of character arcs. Cold comfort is that she'll likely be the sole survivor once again, but I still hope she can bring the baby back to Christa at Wellington. End this miserable final episode with a glimmer of hope.

  • Clementine is going to crack sooner or later. She can't hold in all her emotions much longer I think. But she is as tough as a saltlick so.

  • As much as I hate to say, if I were in her situation I wouldn't be able to take it. Too many things, in such a short period of time.

  • I was saying the same thing back in march, like "oh shit, Clementine is heading towards a meltdown" and stuff like that. Kind of surprised it hasn't come yet, but it still seems like she's inching closer and closer.

  • She's a tough cookie. Someone posted a good post about how kids growing up relate to their environments alot and how Clementine may have it easier since she has grown up in the ZA world and can cope with it better than humans who grew up normally.

  • Carver made sense when he talked about the next generation being more resilient than the current one. If Rebecca's baby grows up with Clem, he may even become a well-adjusted person.

I don't think we're going to see Clem go hysterical or suicidal, but it seems the trauma may never leave her. Yet that does not mean she still can't heal. Luke's on the edge of an emotional breakdown, Kenny's stuck in the past, Jane's suppressed her empathy to remain sane, and Christa probably has nothing to live for beyond the vague hope of finding Clem at Wellington.

Clem's strong. She's stronger than all of them. She may not be able to save everyone or reclain her childhood joys, but she still has hope.

  • Well.... "You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world, but you do have some say in who hurts you." Honestly if clementine gets attached to someone again, chances are their death will hurt more. :(

  • As you said below, she's learning to just roll with whatever comes along. She's learned from all of her mistakes. Carver saw the true strength in her. I don't think she's allowed herself to get truly attached to anyone since Omid died.

  • kenny might die this episode that would hurt clementine alot she thought he was dead for a long time now it's like he was brought back to life only to die now that could hurt clementine alot more then if luke died

  • I have a gut feeling that the end of episode five will be a bunch of walkers getting mowed down right in front of the gates of Wellington. Hence, "All the dead lie down". As opposed to standing up and walking.

  • Or the cold just stops them dead in their tracks.

Apparently Episode 5's title was once called "Better to Sleep".

  • I don't think of Clem ever as suicidal unless she's bitten and has no way to amputate the wound. But I do kind of see her as I said giving Christa the baby and heading out alone not staying in Wellington because she might see herself as cursed because of everything thats happened to people around her.

  • If I were in her shoes I dont think i'd have made it to episode 4 or season 2 for that matter. Depends on if we were adjusting for mentality and age. If I was my personality at her Age well i'd be Duck. And that worked out poorly for him. But even my current mind I dont handle trauma well. Although if I did make it to Episode 4 of season 2 I would have shot Sarah to spare her.

  • I think her dialogue not blaming Jane if you send Jane to try and Save Sarah says it all. She sounds like a child whose just been told to apologize to someone they dont want to. Forced and fake. I mean she's holding back her pain true enough but still it's sounds like shes dying inside.

  • I have a feeling EVERYONE will die in episode 5 except Clem and the Baby. And I have a sickening suspicion that we should be prepared if Clem doesnt actively talk to or check on the baby for several scenes when she finally gets to Wellington or wherever and her hopes are risen and she points out she has a baby someone will point out to her "That baby's been dead for a while Clementine. You're lucky it doesnt have teeth."

Hopefully that will be too grim even for TTG.

Sees TTG is making a Game of Thrones game FUUUUUU.....

  • If TTG even makes a Season 3. If they do who knows it could be a whole new group set farther into the apocalypse or even a new theme of trying to rebuild society in a Walker world. But yeah Clem and the Baby might not make it to the end. And with Clem's hat being so Iconic they could have it laying in a pool of blood or some other gory discretion shot to show something bad happened.. Then of course there is possible homages to Classic Zombie movies being too weak and exhausted to show shes not a walker and being accidentally killed. Collapsing just short of her goal. Being bitten and not knowing it due to other pain. Or even... and mind you this i only saw once in a very obscure horror series that was on for a short time and also Forbidden Siren Blood Curse. Clem actually being a Walker and not knowing it if we see it from her perspective. But that last one seems unlikely.

    Ohh, that would cut deep.

  • I see her as being smart enough to realize she can't control the world around her, only her reaction to it. She'd be mature enough to realize that bad things happen out of stupid random chance, not because the world's out to get her specifically (which is the mindset Kenny is stuck with).

And seriously, leaving what is likely to be the best possible situation presented in this whole Season isn't pragmatic. I didn't raise Clem to be like that!

After all the trauma she had to suffer, I think she must have an iron will to keep it together. It is only natural for her to become jaded and emotionally detatched like she is now. Kinda. But the alternative is either turning into a mental wreck and just give up or turn into a psychopath. She had been taught to survive, get over grief and keep on going, no matter what. She's trying her best to do that I think but how much more a person (especially someone her age) can take it, I don't know. I just do my best to keep her as decent and good as possible.
