Why Lilly probably won't be back
I think many people believe Lilly will be back sooner or later, and I don't say it's impossible, but it's very unlikely.
Now, I know that Kirkman already stated that the game Lilly is NOT the Woodbury Lilly. That's a canon fact now.
BUT, and that's my main point, she once was. In Episode 1, she still was. After that, not anymore. But she still was once.
And that's what Telltale planned with. The script for Episode 1 and maybe even 2 handles her as the Woodbury Lilly. And this was supposed to be her story, before Kirkie said otherwise.
In the beginning, she wasn't planned to NOT be the Woodbury Lilly. My point is, Telltale didn't have plans for her after 103 to begin with. They thought it would be set in stone that Lilly will meet the Governor and join his army.
For Telltale, her story was finished after 103. They told the story about Lilly that they wanted to tell to us. And Kirkman just changed the facts, still:
Telltale saw Lilly's story as finished when they wrapped up 103. At that point at least, there were no future plans to bring back Lilly, I can tell you that much.
Of course, Telltale could still bring her back now, no doubt. But she wasn't planned to come back. They still might, though. But in Telltale's eyes I believe Lilly's story arc is over.

This. I'm pretty sure that if Kirkman would've clarified the whole canon thing sooner, things would've been quite different. They could still bring her back, that's true. But there is no way that is happening in this season. It would be way too convenient for Clementine to meet two persons she thought they were most likely dead in the same week.
Maybe in the third season? Still, I wouldn't put much hope into that one.
I agree, next Season is possible. But this Season is very, very unlikely

Kenny's story arc was pretty much over and they brought him back. For some reason I want Kenny and Lily to meet again.
at first they saw kenny's story as done with his death in 105 but they changed it they can do the same with lilly in season 3
Also didn't Lilly's VA quit voice acting?
I think it's still possible for Lilly to come back, but I don't think she will fit in this Season, the only other character that should come back is Christa in Season 2. But they might make a DLC including Lilly.
