    Obviously, Atlantis's invisibility shields are causing artifacts to appear on Google Maps images. If the artifacts disappear, it's because the Atlantians recalibrated the shielding device.

    Of course Google would deny the discovery. They don't want anyone sniffing around while they're stockpiling orichalcum beads.

    Still, it stands to reason that the Google guys would get first dibs on the god machine.
