How exactly did ******* die?
Hi all! So it's funny that I would be the one to ask this, being that I'm currently going to school to be a physicians assistant.
Prior to Rebecca having her baby, she seemed fatigued, but I didn't see any signs whatsoever that would point to her death. After having the baby, she seemed a bit rejuvenated when talking to Clem and her dialogue didn't point to any type of post-birth sickness. When she sat down prior to the Russians showing up, the dialogue once again pointed to her being tired and worn out, but nothing more. So with that said, what caused her to die so quickly and turn? Did you have an idea that she was so close to her deathbed?

She didnt rejuvenate when talking to clem, she was happy about her baby but she was still coughing, laying there unable the move. The trauma of birth with no food etc killed her
Hypothermia, starvation, exhaustion, the birth, and possibly bloodloss(maybe?)
I figured it was due to a retained placenta leading to severe infection (possibly coupled with blood loss) and eventually, her death.
The first two in my mind aren't plausible because if she was at a near-fatal rate, there would have been significant signs beforehand. Exhaustion is a possibility, but is seldom a cause of death. I also question blood loss, being that the pregnancy seemed to go relatively normal and if that was a realistic cause of death, she would have had significant side effects prior to resting on the rock.
I can certainly understand that many women died during child birth prior to hospitals, but it was often immediately or even before the baby is delivered. It just seems odd to me and I infer that Telltale didn't have a definite excuse to have her turn, but went with it in order to end the episode the way it happened.
This is also my best guess.
Agreed, an infection is probably the best bet.
