Ideas for Finale Credits Song
There were many things that captured me throughout the first season of the walking dead but what really start crying a river at its 5th episode is when the credits song (Take Us Back - Alela DIane) hits right after that devastating ending. I think the credits song for season 2 should also attempt to create that same feeling as it intensifies the ending. I've been thinking for the past 4 months on a song that i would love to see (but probably won't happen) in the credits of season 2's finale. #1 for being the most, #3 for being the least.
1: Cherry Tree - The National (
) - I personally would LOVE to see this in a credits song, there's a lot of anger and raw energy that emits from this song. It sounds pretty good for a devastating bloody ending where everything goes down hill.
2: 90-Mile Water Wall - The National (
) - Has a very melancholic tone to it and has that crying violin in the background. Violins always make me cry. Also has that very woodlands feel to it and goes well with the setting of season 2.
3: Sorrow - The National (
) - Really great and depressing song if incorporated into the series. Well suited for a very dramatic and depressing ending. Really goes well with IF clementine gets "abandoned" at the end of it. Yeah, I know she matured a lot and is a very strong character but everyone breaks down at one point, and honestly i have a feeling that her feeling of getting abandoned a lot of the times will make her crack a bit. Along with the lyrics, it'd be well suited if she finds that picture of Lee at the end.
Bittersweet Ending:
#1: Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks - The National () - This suits the ending if it's bittersweet. Not every ending has to be ultra negative. I have a strong feeling the ending might be completely devastating but there might be something positive happening at the ending too. A shimmer of hope, maybe.
Well, that's all i have for you guys and i hope you guys enjoyed this thread. What are your thoughts and which songs would you personally like at the ending? What i did when i listened to these songs was imagine the sequences of events of the game while listening, i felt they really capture the walking dead's overall mood and tone.
P.S. Yeah, I'm a bit of the National fan
